It started off for kids, but the story grew darker and more mature as the characters grew older and we the fans grew older with them.

What about Sirius Black? Unloving family,Best Friend and Adoptive parents Dead,gets put into Azkaban for 12 years for something he didn't do, then he's killed by his cousin after being shut up in a house he was abused in for 16 years.

@@a.j8309 I do like Sirius a lot, but he took all that anger out on Slytherins just cause of his family and became a bully. Snape would've been VERY different if they weren't so mean to him and hurt him so much. Also it was Dumbledore's fault for not giving him a trial and he wasn't even a free man so he should be more cautious. It's war, everyone loses someone and if he just didn't run after Peter, he would've at least been able to raise Harry. And for Tom Riddle, his mother died during childbirth, father and his family KNEW he existed, but didn't bother to try finding him. Was produced due to a love potion(allowing him to not really feel love). Bullied in Slytherin at first due to his last name being Riddle. Had to live as a ghost for like 10 years or more maybe. Although, my least favorite character would have to be Dumbledore. While I am ALL for the dark and would've wished Tom won (this was the result from reading too many dark!harry fics), Dumbledore is literally the actual dark lord. He NEVER told Tom about his parents or about him being the Slytherin heir (if you're from an orphanage and had parents, shouldn't the teacher tell you?). Basically was the cause of Tom even becoming a dark lord. For Harry, he made sure Harry was submissive by putting him the Dursley's while knowing well about the abuse (I'm sure Harry's mother probably forbid Harry to ever go to that house knowing what they'd do. Harry would've gone to another Wizarding family cause of Sirius being in Azkaban). He purposely brought Hagrid since he's a dumbeldore lover and Slytherin Hater. Ron's family shouldn't even be using that station cause they're wizards and they're jUST THERE when Harry needs help. oifneineofe there's just too much shit wrong with dumbledore. Let's not forget the fact his ex-boyfriend was GRINDELWALD and he acc supported his causes for a VERY long time.

Wasn't his real reason to basically bring the 'old ways' and dark magic back again? Killing muggle-borns was cause of his past abuse experience, and he never really said anything about being 'greater' than Dumbledore. He just wanted power and knowledge, and having the most power just meant going the level above Dumbledore. He tried to kill Harry cause of a prophecy stating his own death, and he feared dying the most (while it was immature and more of a Gryffindor thing to do, I guess in a dark lord way it was logical). I agree with you though, he is one of my favorite villains alongside Maleficent and Loki!

heirofkairi Voldemort is my 2nd favorite villain because he's very scary and just evil. He wants power and will go by any means to achieve it. BTW, if you've been wondering, the Joker is my favorite villain of all time.

Yeah but he'd have been much more normal had Merope survived and loved him as a mother does. He'd still be a psychopath, but less crazy and without the blood prejudice. (I mean, Merope was tortured by her pureblood family and fell in love with a Muggle. Surely she didn't believe in it and would have raised Voldemort without blood prejudice)
