Man, I haven't thought about this show since it originally aired. Tom Savini discussing MANIAC on a children's show?? Frank Zappa was on this program too. I tend to sell the 80s short, but i guess shit WAS way cooler back then.

He's on the Maniac commentary and is in no way ashamed of his work. Sad to see him cave at one point to critics, but great to know he eventually returned home.

Thanks for this video. I'm always fascinated by these types of special effects, and the creativity involved. I hope it makes a return, as it seems to have become a rarity these days. Tom Savini is a master of his craft.

Wow hadn't seen this since it aired on Livewire in 1982; yes I saw this when it first aired. Anyway this brings back such good memories of the time thank you for posting it.
