Glad to see him still performing! Back in 1978, we went to his show in Columbus Ga, and he actually opened the bus door, and gave me and autograph and patted me on the head. I was 4 years old, and have never forgotten that!

My sister heard this song @ the first concert she ever attended, she was with our dad who loved country music. Great song, great lyrics.

Love this song, reminds me of all things good in life that you don't need to spend a fortune to acquire...I do love old dogs too, have two old dogs rescued from high kill shelters dumped there to die. Great song writer.

Now. That's the way a song should be performed, with sincerity and from the heart....Just sometimes a song is worth so much more, without all the clatter of electrified back-up instruments!! I saw him live at the Texas penitentiary rodeo in 1976 I believe. He was sure a character. That was when the song"I like beer" was a hit. I'm trying to learn to play this one now so Mr. Hall give me some help!
