Today we turn our big tom turkey into many future meals. We'll make some wonderful Turkey Soup base, some canned turkey meat, and some super rich broth!
Here's the channel, where we learned about blending veggies right into your broth, instead of straining them out: • Canning Turkey and Bro... ( ‪@WhippoorwillHoller‬ )

Great video. I also saw that video and so glad you reminded me of who did it. Of course... Miss Lori...I should have remembered on my own. I watch her, too. I am a fairly new subscriber and I really like your style so I will be looking at your older posts. I was just clicking on your channel to do just that when you had just posted this one 45 seconds ago. I was so excited to be the first!!! I am NEVER first at anything, lol. Last year I would have cried when your pigs went to market but I have come to respect all you homesteaders that raise your own meat. Like you said, they had a great life until the last moment..... much better than the commercially raised meat/animals. You have given me some great ideas of what to do with some meat I have in the freezer. Thank you for this video!

It was Lori Brown at Whipperwill Holler. She is absolutely amazing. Her videos are like a balm to the soul. I was watching you use your hands as a funnel when you were adding your peas and it reminded me of the saying, your hands are the best tool you have. I do the same thing. You seemed to really enjoy making this. It was a pleasure to watch and learn. Turkey pot pie. NUM!

Looks so yummy! I’m hoping I can grow lots of yummy vegetables in my new garden this year to expand my husband’s pallet. We’re both 60 but he has a somewhat picky appetite. We were talking about turnip greens today and I said I was going to grow turnips and try my hand at cooking the greens like my mom used to make. He didn’t seem opposed to the idea either. I do know if I grow too much of something he won’t eat I can give the extra to either our middle son and his family or even his mother-in-law. She hasn’t had a garden since her parents past a few years ago.

Canning nice veggie soups with different meats would get them through the winter nicely. I was using my dehydrated vegetables for dry mix soups. Thanks!

Try removing your cooked veggies and placing them in a flat bottomed bowl before using your immersion blender on them. I have found that makes it quick and easy. No more chasing those veggies around the pot and trying to trap them at the bottom.. Then just put the pureed veggies back into the broth and stir.
