Early tomatoes is the key to success for market fruit farm. Having early tomatoes requires lots from the farmer. Here in southwest Missouri, the frost free date is may first, our goal is to have ripe tomatoes by the first week of may. Planning and precision is key. I started the tomatoes now so that by the last week of February I could already plant then inside the high tunnel. After transplant it takes about 8 weeks to go from bloom to harvest. By doing this we are able to achieve our goal, and satisfy our costumers.

You are the first that I look for when I go to KZfaq. Keep it up big guy! I used your promo code to get the wife a grow light. When I did the checkout, I used PayPal-everything normal. My receipt came back "You sent a payment of $135.79 USD to shen zhen shi zhu guang xin yue ke ji you xian gong si". I just thought you might find that interesting.

Love seed starting time - to think that the four seedling trays will fill a high tunnel in a couple of months is always amazing. Merry Christmas Dre!

We're going to try around 1,000 this year. I'm a big fan of big beef and I'm always first to the market. I've already started my seed for the spring so I plan to work them in to our greenhouses this fall.

You should change your KZfaq name to professor Dre. Do you use fertilizer for seedlings?

I bought a greenhouse from a guy bigger than I need at the moment. I won't need but 1/2 to 2/3 of the area this year. Do you suggest hanging plastic and sectioning it off as a germination chamber to save heat and be easier to control temperatures? Or is a heater and the greenhouse concept efficient enough to just keep the whole house open and be able maintain a stable temperature? Thanks!

Do you plant tomatoes in the same high tunnel every year? Or do you rotate with different crops or move the high tunnel to new ground every season? Thanks
