Even after a few years, things can still perform just as well as when they were brand new! 👍

This video is coming at a perfect time where the team and I were just talking about whether or not to pick up a "point and shoot" as a handy secondary camera. Great stuff man :)

Awesome! The small versatility is really underrated.

The MK5 goes hand in hand with my RX1 for street photography in NYC. The MK5 is an outstanding camera in July of 2020! 😀🔥👍

Yay for point and shoots! I really did like this camera. Good memories. The focus is great - I remember being jealous when I was still using my Canon S110. And all of your slow mo’s haha. You bring up such great points! Super helpful! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I find it funny how many youtubers think the mic input is so important especially because in their studio videos it doesn’t matter at all if you record audio on an external device and sync it in post.
@tombuck5 жыл бұрын
It’s definitely a helpful feature to have though, even if most of a person’s workflow involves syncing audio.

Well done! I’m a Interchangeable lens snob, but my wife doesn’t like the size of those larger systems. I might pick up one of these Sony cameras.
@tombuck5 жыл бұрын
I’m in the same boat as you, but the simplicity of a small camera like these is a huge benefit I didn’t know I was missing.

Nice vid'. For photography only, would you recommand it, or another camera ? (My needs are -pocketable and -fastttttt AF) thx 👍
@tombuck4 жыл бұрын
It’s definitely pocketable and fast, but for photos, I’d personally always want something with interchangeable lenses. Maybe the Sony A6400 or Canon M6 could fit the bill?
@MartinScore164 жыл бұрын
@@tombuck ok thx for your answer. As i got 1 xt2 + relativly small lenses, i will not go for a A6xxx series. Looking for a compact like rx100 or g7xiii or xf10 or lx15 or other, i think rx100m5 has fastest AF, but not sure

Great video. Absolutely agree with you, I own Sony RX100 m5 for 1 year and it's much better than m6 or7 for video according to your video, especially that bokeh look is killing feature)

I still use my RX100 all the time. I got my wife the ZV1 for her birthday, and it's also a pretty awesome camera with some absolutely absurd autofocus.

Hello Tom, I hope you're still reading/answering these comments because I really want to buy the Mark V as a main camera (I work in a recently start up small studio, and my coworker has a DSLR that covers the lenses changing snobery 😆) I wanted to use this camera to cover gigs, some of them maybe with not a lot of light and to take those good 4K videos to record bands and to film teather plays (tbh I'm kinda worried about the sound, but we do have alternatives to record them and we plan on buying a Tascam eventually). I also really like photography, I take photos of almost everything with my phone rn and I'm dissatisfied with what I do (I can use manual but the low quality is the problem) and for what I see the mark V covers that very well. Do you still recommend getting that camera? Is currently at sale with the same price as the Z1 and I really don't know which one to get
@tombuck2 жыл бұрын
They’re both great and you really can’t go wrong either way. The ZV-1 is a bit more modern, has better autofocus, won’t overheat in 4K, and has better stabilization along with a mic input. The Mark V has better build quality and a better lens, but no mic input and can only record 4K for up to 5 minutes. I still love the V and use it pretty regularly.

@@tombuck wow thanks for the answer! Is the better lens worth it despite what it doesn't has?

is it possible to download the extras from play memories anymore? such as the timelapse feature? Pretty sure play memories isn't supported any longer by Sony. I am able to get all the way to the end of the purchasing process when I press "agree and continue with purchase" nothing happens. Tried to do it on my computer but I'm running Big Sur on my Mac (of course it won't run on Big Sur) Phone app does won't even connect to the Camera, cant even transfer a photo (samsung S21 Ultra) I think all my tech is to new. Any suggestions? thanks in advance

I wish I had a definitive answer for you, but. I never used Play Memories myself. Maybe someone else here will see this and have a better answer.

Is it possible to plug the rx v to a wall battery to combat the short battery life while recording ?
@tombuck3 жыл бұрын
I haven't found a good way to do this yet, but I'm interested because I'd love to use it as a secondary streaming camera.
