When Plarail first produced their motorised Thomas & Friends range in the early nineties, Thomas, Edward, Henry, Gordon, James, and Percy were lacking in certain painted details that were added to later editions of the toys (notably, white running boards and coloured boiler bands). However the earlier, less detailed models, were what was released in western markets when the TOMY Motor Road & Rail brand launched. Like many creators in the fandom, I replaced my TOMY models with the more detailed Plarail ones early on in my channel's life, but I've always wondered what a CGI short would look like with old style TOMY models.
