Can this boiler be operated using manual control on the front swipe panel, or is the plug and play system (2.20) a requirement for the boiler to operate, and does it come with the boiler? Thanks from an elderley potential customer.

You missed the dhw flow switch along with introducing more recycled plastic materials on the bottom manifolds. Other than that good vid, nice to see you posting more content 👍

Does the boiler support weather comp , some older models had a sensor yet I can’t find any info on it with this boiler for boiler plus regs due to come in for max efficiency, and for summer months does it support water only mode disabling heating like baxi and ideal?

They now have wifi module VR940f, how does that differ from the older VR921 module which also supports Ambisense.

Personally having fitted several of these I think its predecessor Ecoplus erp with the dodgy front flap is a better boiler all round.. 👍

I still think the old cast iron boilers were less prone to breakdown ive had mine for 34 years chnged 2 thermo couples wouldnt be without it😊

The old boilers were more reliable but are very inefficient, additionally the burners are failing after all these years. Hope you have a CO alarm installed.

Same with me David 20 year old glow worm ultimate, One PCB failed and a couple of blocked pilots plus I can service it without any fancy test equipment. We were changing 5 year old Ideal isars because they were uneconomical to repair So I would have been on at least my second new bright shiney condencing boiler by now and could no longer service it myself.New boilers are set up to give 9 % CO2 on high and low where the last time I could check my ultimate it was less than half that . We expand the argument to computer controlled hot water cylinders .Give me a copper tank and tank stat any day .All this stuff even when it is under a long warranty needs servicing to maintain the warrantee So that at least two or three things to maintain .They may be more effective and efficient. They will almost certainly be more costly taken everything into consideration.Condencing boilers are all as far as I know are positive pressure boilers. They are probably more at rink than my negative pressure Glowing for a CO incident .

Things to consider about the 9:56 ionisation probe: Needs replaced every 5 years or 10000 use hours, this could be done when you change the graphite seal every 5 years as standard. Never touch the probe when changing. You also need to let the onboard computer know that the probe has been changed so it can reset the use timer

5:33 there are a lot of problems with this diverter valve model!!! Starting from the fact that it ends up losing water next to the axis to the fact that the element that makes the deflection detaches from the axis being fixed by two C-type clamps that detach from the axis... I only have unpleasant memories with this type of servomotors from the time when they were used on viessmann vitopend 100

I wonder if the new ionisation setup is for future gas blends

It’s so the boiler can monitor the quality of the gas and adjust the boiler accordingly. So guess it will be used for hydrogen 👍🏻

5:41 we can see that they insist on keeping the heat exchangers in plates at reduced sizes so that at the slightest trace of dirt the boiler will overheat during the preparation of hot water... and viessmann has the same "wonderful" characteristics - being sized to the limit the boiler is forced to operate with higher temperatures on the primary agent, which accelerates dirt deposits in the heat exchanger - but this is not a defect but an innovative technology that cleans the water of the primary circuit of sediments ... and if they want to maximize their performance to collect dirt from the water, they can return to the use of rubber hoses between the primary heat exchanger and hydroblock, typical for Vaillant and Viessmann. but we can also notice at Vaillant and Viessmann that the clever engineers have left room for the installation of heat exchangers in large-sized plates in case the guys on the commercial are caught by their conscience and become less greedy...

@@tomkatgastraining I am a fan of Vaillant and Viessmann as the good boilers that they can be but unfortunately are not! The engineers from Vaillant and those from Viessmann know how to make exceptional boilers but the economists from the 2 companies say they want to make money from spare parts... At this moment, I have installed in my house a Vaillant combi boiler which had no defects but came with a Wilo pump that I changed at installation with a Grundfos pump :D and I installed an enlarged plate heat exchanger in it - in this configuration it had 0 defects in 15-16 years of operation. now it will be replaced with another brand of boiler… And I will miss the cover on the control panel - in the position in which it is installed, it is exposed to the sun's rays for several hours a day and the metal cover protects it... that's why I postponed for several years its replacement with another boiler…

You sound like one of them builders that has so much to say but knows nothing. They put 10 year warranty on them for a reason. If they’re serviced to manufacturers instruction they’ll last their service life. Relax bro, find a girlfriend and stop writing novels about how the best rated boiler in the world is shit in your opinion

£135? That's crazy. A wi-fi or zigbee switch costs under a tenner. A wireless thermometer that can act as a thermostat under a fiver. But yeah, you would have to be a numpty to buy the Vaillant controls.
