Hi guys this looks like a very good product but if your strapped for cash with the cost of living etc I tried using an old video cam recorder .I was amazed at the quality of pictures i could get and on macro mode I would say compatible with what we just been seeing .You even connect to tv with HDMI lead .

I have a Sony HAndycam HDR-AX2000 above my bench for the 'overhead' shots in my videos and it does have a good zoom range which is very useful but I still need a microscope for close-up work and microsoldering

Worth noting the white bar on the bottom left of the screen is a touch control for the internal LED lighting. I've got a 4k monitor to use with this scope as the attached screen is only 1280x800 versus the 3840x2160, using it for watch repair and servicing so the image quality is important. I think it's also worth mentioning that unlike other scopes that are claiming 4k resolution the image sensor isn't native 4k on them, this one is hence the quality of the zoom. I've found the additional light to be a bit of a creature, it's large, the attachment to the lense assembly makes it a bit of a fiddle adjusting the focus and the cable is a pain. Be nice if Tomlov made a Barlow lense fitting for this. Overall it's a great scope for the money and the built in lighting is streets ahead of the LEDs on Flexi sticks.

I like this. I have the Andonstar AD407 Pro, which is very similar, but this one does have useful features that I would find extremely useful, such as the split-screen, in particular. I use mine connected to a large display in the same way but I often glance at the microscope display as well. The 1080 view is often enough, though. I would have preferred a better system for the anti-glare as that clip-on thing would end up lost here, for sure. Not a deal-breaker and if I didn't already have a microscope I definitely would be interested in this. It could have been done electronically. That split screen feature would be a big selling point for me. That would probably sway it for me against others. My own goal now is for a trinocular scope but I can't justify the price at the moment - this type of scope is perfect for the price. Thanks for the review - I appreciate it.

Yes I also have an AD407 and this TM4K microscope is definitely better in several ways

Great review Richard. When you giving us a clue to the competition for the scope meter you mentioned in an earlier vid. P.S. love your Gran Canaria Uncovered channel.

Yes we will be giving away an LG303 Scopemeter on one of the live streams in April - Here is the previous review kzfaq.info/get/bejne/sLqGoM95qbjbnmg.html Nice to see you are enjoying Gran Canaria Uncovered (with Detlef, Julie and Myself) some of our recent videos are doing very well and if I may say so myself the video quality has improved greatly since we started the channel. And who doesn't like to watch girls partying? Anyone who does, this is a good example of our current video production level kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pNuhir2mrqu0dmg.html at 01:50 05:44 11:33 etc etc etc (hint, just watch it all)

A nice Microscope. It's good to be able to see a large area your working on. I only have a little USB hand held one, it's more for inspection after the fact, haha. I didn't like the software that came with mine, so just a few month ago I wrote my own basic application for it.

Heya, oke it's a very nice microscoop hope we'll see it more in the videos being used I like it
@LearnElectronicsRepair5 ай бұрын
It's going to be used either on my workbench or the @TheElectronicsChannel live streams. I can confirm that Tomlov will be sending me one of the new flexible arms for the microscope and then I will make a video showing that and then decide where best to use the microscope depending on the amount of work space I have
@Dutch-linux5 ай бұрын
i wished that they would support Linux not just windows and mac other then that it is a great microscope but am afraid outside of my budget range hope tomlov will read this and add Linux support that be awesom.

It worked in OBS so it is basically a 'normal' USB video source. I'm sure the output will be viewable with various Linux Apps. Or of course use a HDMI-USB capture device
@Dutch-linux5 ай бұрын
@@LearnElectronicsRepair if there is no usb driver for Linux for it then OBS can not use it on Linux and for that price you expect you can use all features and apps that come with it for any OS .....
@drelephanttube5 ай бұрын
@@Dutch-linux It probably just shows up as a standard USB webcam. Linux can surely use it.
@Dutch-linux5 ай бұрын
@@drelephanttube yes but for that price you want to use the software too and all the features and when the software is not written to work on linux you only have half the functionality you see ?? now if they do not want to put the time in for making linux software they can make it open source and the linux community would write software for it for linux you see where i am getting from ?

I wish those Chinese suppliers would stop lying about the maximum magnification.

Looks like it's no longer available? It's not listed on Tomlov website & all previous Google links to it give a 404 error.

Tomlov says there is a problem with the link for USA buyers and they are working to resolve this. A number of viewers have bought the microscope

Hi have you tried this with insects and other small critters?
@seanshaw832127 күн бұрын
I’ve just bought the Elikliv Em4k which appears to be the same microscope without the flexible arm and an 8 inch screen rather than 10 screen, but for a fair bit less money. I’ve only just played around with a few flowers etc out of the garden so far but looks like its going to be great for critters

Promo code is from the US with the associated shipping costs. Only the ten inch screen available to buy at over £400 with shipping. I suspect you must have a lot of North American subscribers !!

@TheElectronicDilettante5 ай бұрын
On their website, it’s listed for $300 and claim that it has a magnification of 2000x. That level of magnification is impossible in this type of scope. It’s not really possible in other types even when the objective lens is immersed in oil.

Of course, just click on the About link, it's under the channel name on the home page where it says 'Hi, Welcome to my channel. My name is Richard and I aim to teach you all about Electronic...' So click that channel description text and from there you can get the email address. You can do this on all KZfaq channels to be honest.
