It's a surprisingly brilliant combination of "try not to laugh" and Roast. TNTL they rarely have much prep time, so they have to adlib everything with no backup plan if it doesn't work, and then throw together another for the next person. They have time to perfect one bit for these and give it their best. Roast is intended to be very pointed at the roastee so every joke is required to have a target, which doesn't really allow much room for characters. For these, Ian can literally ignore the roastee and just promote Smosh merch and still have it be successful. This combination gives us the very best of both worlds.

That was such a roller coaster of as funeral roast Tommy's reaction to Amanda starting her bit was so fun to watch. And that last roaster just demolishing the entire cast, truly on another level.

I really appreciated how everyone showed Tommy (non derogatory) how much he is loved and seen by cutting him to the core, because he actually believed it. Tommy’s partner is beautiful. Rachael absolutely killed it, please can we see more of her (assuming you can keep her from quitting).

Oh my god. Kevin is so sweet! I love the reverse roasts (aka compliments) he gave. It seems perfect considering he's Tommy's SO. Opposites attract! This legitimately made me tear up. I know I don't know you guys and you for sure don't know me, but I was genuinely happy hearing everyone make Tommy laugh. I can sense the love 💕 Almost too much platonic cuteness for my little aro ace heart to handle!
