lakusta is a tough mother fucker...... survived full training camps with iron mike.... had this been a 10rd fight, morrison would have gassed out & been koed! ..... morrison was running low and got desperate with that blatant head butt!.... i agree tommy was a good boxer but lacked stamina after 4 rds!

Lakuska was a journeyman fighter but he fought the very best of his time. Trevor Berbick. Frank Bruno, Micheal Dokes, Donovan Ruddock, Morrison, George Foreman, Pierre Coetzer, Larry Holmes, David Tua and Frans Botha.

Ken Lakusta was a character of note. He wobbled George Foreman when they fought and also took an old Larry Holmes seven rounds before that fight was stopped. Lakusta was no mug in the ring but Morrison probably thought he would knock the Canadian journeyman out easily. How wrong he was and he was quite lucky he was not disqualified for that vicious headbutt late in the fight. All in all, an interesting fight and one that exposed Morrison's lack of stamina. He was clearly gased here after just six rounds of action. 🥊

This fight here against Lukusta and a few years later with Yuri Vaulin was a prime example that Morrison began to unravel after 3-4 rounds. His trainers should’ve been aware of this and waited to put him in against Mercer until Morrison had more late round experience. I always said, he (Morrison) had unprofessional, inexperienced cornermen. A good trainer would’ve picked up on these things and would have NEVER put him in against Mercer at that stage.

You don't have a clue, that slow moving foreman destroyed moorer and regained the title at 45, after he fought morrison, tommy also beat ruddock who was no joke (he also said tommy punches a lot harder than tyson), knocked out tillis who went the distance with Tyson, knocked out joe hipp with a broken hand and jaw, the man has one or if not the best left hook in history and an outstanding record, just a shame we never got to see him in his prime and at his best
