The trail actually begins in Chester County. It retraced the former Pennsylvania Railroad Atglen and Susquehanna Branch. The distinctive PRR Catenary Poles were replaced with traditional utility style monopoles in 2011, as they still serve as part of Amtrak's 25Hz Traction System.

I think we logged between 18 and 19 miles one way on the sections that are currently open.

I’d be interested in the bicycle you both have chosen for your age. We’re 250 and a wake up from retirement and considering returning to cycling after 35 years.

My wife rides a folding mountain bike that is no longer in production. I ride a recumbent due to a surgery I had several years ago. For trails you just need a decent bike with med width tires rather than road tires. Most bikes these day have 21 speeds.

@@BentOnBiking thanks so much. My wife is 4’10” and we’re eye brands with extra/extra small sizes. And with four appendages surgeries right/left feet, right elbow, left and possibly right rotators I’ll be looking for comfortably steady mountain bikes with shocks as opposed fast the stiff racers I’ve owned of old. My son graduated Tech and seemed we frequented Blacksburg every other week a few years ago.
