Tom Petty saved my life. I was in a car crash and seriously injured and was put in to an induced coma. I had always said, jokingly, that if I was ever in a coma play Tom Petty. Never thinking it would ever happen. They had tried to wake me up, with no success. So my husband said about Tom Petty. The nurses thought, well it's worth a try. So they put my headphones on and played all his albums, and I came round to this song. It was still a long road (no pun intended). But I wish I could have done the same for him. Love ya Tom RIP.

You are exactly right. Tom Petty knew how to recreate one of his iconic songs on stage note for note. There was no autotune back then, so Tom petty had to learn to sing in tune without the help of some computer software. He never forgot the skill.

Tom was a shooting star. That shone for 40 years. And then God called Tom home. He left us at the top of his mountain. Worked and sang all for us. Rip brother. Hope up there he knows how much we loved him.

This live version of Don't Do Me Like That by Tom Petty is phenomenal to listen to. I confess that I randomly heard this song less than 4 weeks ago when I was outside in the summer weather doing some tasks related to my current job/current place of employment. I was minding my own business and going about my typical workday when I unexpectedly heard this entertaining song briefly play from a customer's car.

Ben on the keyboards. When there should be piano, there it is, then organ when it should be organ. He really shines on this song, here and on the studio track. When Tom passed, I did what all long time fans did, go back through the catalogue and rediscover classics like this one. Ben is just amazing for all 40 years of the band.
