HERE'S A REAL REVIEW Throwing this out there, I never received my tonal. The entire process was a nightmare. Delivery was scheduled several times, I'd wait around all day and they wouldn't show. The support team at Tonal has little to no idea what's going on. My tonal ended up getting shipped to Boston, I live in Colorado. They then rescheduled it, after waiting for months, for it to arrive on Christmas eve. I let tonal know that after waiting around all day, no one showed AGAIN. On Christmas Eve! They had no idea until I made them aware. Seems like a nice piece of equipment but not worth the headache.

I would buy this right now IF a membership was INCLUDED for the first 12 months. The fact that this thing is expensive already, and then they’re requiring an additional 12-24 months of the monthly membership paid up front nearly doubles the price. That’s INSANE to me.

This is for everyone who doesn't want to go to the gym. You can be fit at home with appropriate workouts included in this equipment. It is really like having a personal trainer mounted on you wall. Amazing !

Hi everyone...heads up, if you purchase the Tonal and have a problem with the machine be prepared for the worst imaginable customer service experience you can imagine. They're simply uninterested in helping THEIR customers. I have never posted a comment like this before but after my experience I just can't not warn people about what they can expect.

A commercial grade dual cross cable machine is around $4,000 and that is the end of the fees. Plus it will likely last longer than computerized weights.

I would like to buy one, but the subscription fees make me retract

I have been waiting for this product for months getting the runaround from them and the delivery company. Already took multiple days off work. The communication and customer service between these two companies is some of the worst I ever experienced. I’m canceling the order not worth the hassle and terrible customer service it’s probably a blessing in disguise. Def be aware of this product. Also be aware of the reviews you see that give you money off the product they are basically working for tonal.

I would honestly invest in this rather than a cable machine for my home gym, but the fact that there is a subscription every month, plus you have to pay extra for the bench and all the attachments, is just a no-go for me. Would be cool if instead of pre-recorded workouts, they had an actual trainer who could work with you via the camera/screen and provide real feedback on your form. For my home gym in particular, I don't like any machines that require a subscription--that's the whole appeal of having a home gym, you pay once, not monthly. Otherwise I'd rather just go to a gym than pay a large subscription fee every month.

The membership fee of an actual gym with dozens and dozens of equipment, indoor track, several courts, 4 outdoor tennis courts, two swimming pools, and many Other features in my town is $31/month. This thing’s membership is more!

Take away the membership and personal trainer, drop it to 1,000 and I’d get it. I wonder if there’s a way to use it without drilling it to your wall.

If you listen to the whole review she actually hits on a few gripes which I agree with. Tonal is a more interesting workout experience than anything else I’m accustomed to but I do look forward to the more real-time interactive features that will eventually be released with the product.

25 (monthly gym membership cost) X 120 (months of gym membership which is 10 years btw) = $3000 dollars. Buying this thing is just a clear waste of cash. You can learn any kind of workout right here on youtube. If you want to look rich in front of your friend this is the device for you. But if you want to look smart in front of your friends go to the gym and save this money on a nice down payment on something.

This is a neat machine but I can't see it as a gym replacement. I would use it as an addition to a home gym.

The future looks very cool. I have a bowflex, total gym (chuck norris one) and an adjustable bench with adjustable free weights. The total gym on its own is by far the best cheapest all round thing I have and I will probably get rid of the bowflex because the total gym is doing most of those exercises and takes up way less space. I can see something like this smart gym replacing the total gym one day when money isn’t an option.

I would like to have a review of the quality of the manufacturing of this. I would think this needs to be very sturdy to be mounted on the wall (and how is it mounted to the wall). Does it use cheap materials, etc.?

I go to Equinox so $50/mo. is cheap to me. However, I think a locked in commitment to monthly training is dated as most gyms don’t require that anymore. I have a Tempo and as an experienced weightlifter, found the classes too beginner-level overall. Yet I still have to pay membership fees. Ugh. That said, fees at gyms (mine) keep going up. With a home investment, it’s paid for. By the rime fees go up after your obligation period, you can not renew and still use a machine you own.

Bowflex on Craigslist and an iPad for less than $500.

Even it is so expensive I wanted to buy this device too. But unfortunately because of the $45 a month Membership i will not buy it. Plus they fooling with additional charges of $500 for smart devices! Wait what smart devices ? I thought this is a smart device and it will have all the accessories included in the high price of $3000... plus tax... plus shipping.... plus instaling. No thank you i will pay my $20 membership to gym and have not to worry about installation, maintains or space in home.

For that price I'd rather get a squat rack 200lbs isnt much resistance eventually you'll hit a plateau

If beginner was to easy for you, you should have the right form. Don’t think tonal is for people who aren’t knowledgeable about workouts.

I agree with you. The Tonal gym isn't cheap but if you can afford to buy it, it's totally worth every penny. The large display is a good addition ensuring the coaching guide is clear and easy to follow. Now we have technology powered by MediaTek platform to help us get better and fitter at home. This is so unnecessary. People, just be more active it’s free. Push ups and pull ups even doing altered for flexibility and strength are effective. Go jog or walk, all free. What is going to happen is people will buy it then like a gym membership, not use it and have a nice wall ornament.

This thing is completely worthless if you don't pay the $50 per month. Utterly worthless. . . Just a word of caution to anyone thinking about purchasing it. $600 annually - or throw it away. My gym cost me less and it has a pool and a steamroom.

Target audience must be upper income Americans that would ditch the device after 5 weeks.
