So in the anime, the girl just gets way too invested in what Seki is doing but here I feel more like Seki isn't doing anything and this girl is just losing her mind instead.

Tbh, Rumi was initially like that in the manga and the anime. It was only later on when she got into Seki's procrastinations.

first, the girl thought Seki gonna play chess with himself but it turns out Seki just made up the story. As you guys might know the chess game came from war strategy , The center is King. The king was betray by his soldiers. The king started killing his betrayal soldiers. The girl was into the story too much. She thought the king is too cruel and finally the all of enemies turn against the king. The king have a little child and he fight for his child until he died. The girl managed to save the child and win against the enemy finally. At the end of the episode, the girl decided she will tell teacher that Seki didn't pay attention to the class but he was too fast. It seems beside of being a class A brat, Seki is a great story teller too. I annoy the girl so much , she's too different from the anime and also over acting about her friend.
