ToneBooster’s BitJuggler: Add Crunch to a Synth Drone // Details, Links etc: Pinned Comment

I threw this together on my iPad, inside AUM, using a drone made in Mononoke (Bram Bos), processed live through 3 ToneBooster’s apps - BitJuggler, Reelbus and Reverb. BitJuggler is the star of the show here, and is my favourite app for digital distortion etc (I also like K-Devices Shaper). I am applying ‘Transform’ type bit depth reduction, which approximates the sound of a very low quality MP3, and ‘Interleave’ type resampling. I have a walkthrough on BitJuggler here on KZfaq, also one on Reelbus-see below.

You make a good point. I like generative music because of the random nature of creating something from just a sound and just get myself into a stream of consciousness or a state of flow. Doing the same thing as everyone would defeat the purpose.Thanks for all the work you do.

What app did you for creating your graphics? I'm looking for random image or video Apps for my music. My journey started with a few apps about 6 months ago. I've created over a hundred idea sketches. Your videos have provided me with a wealth of ideas. Thanks for everything do. My IQ goes up a few notches after watching your videos. Keep up the great work. Cheers.

Cheers Carl! Please understand that I prefer not to discuss my video making process. Not that it's particularly innovative, but still - when I have done that in the past I saw so much similar stuff shortly after on Insta within our little niche. I think it's better people hunt around and find their own things, much more interesting. Good luck on the quest!

BitJuggler or Electrogene or BitMaestro 🤔 it’s a hard choice. I always have a hard time choosing between the three when I need bitcrushing. The others don’t come close.

Bitmaestro is also excellent, but not as versatile. Lovely sound tho! I don't think I ever got Electrogene, was one that I was sometimes tempted to grab, but resisted. Some bitcrushers, as you say, don't come close. There was one multi fx app released last year that was quite good in many respects but the bitcrusher sound absolutely sucked. Good ones are the exception rather than the rule, for sure!
