yeah it's crazy that the fix was so simple.. a few people have commented that it won't last but 9 months later mine is still fine..

It only fixes it for a short time~ Its a worn Potentiometer switch. Only way is to take stereo apart and replace volume switch

It just needs to be cleaned Amigo. It’s kinda like those old JVC Video cassette recorders behaving erratically and eating tapes. Sometimes the mode switch on those just need a good cleaning from the dirt, grimed up old grease ,and the little green and white gremlins, that sometimes make a presence on it, and try eating away at the brass plating on the contacts.

I’m gonna take my radio out of the car, disassemble the faceplate, and clean the knobs (both) with CRC Electronics parts cleaner. My fix will last for another 150,000 miles.
