I love these, what many people would call "weird" dishes. My mother brought home cow's tongue once when I was a girl. Weird for me but she did grow up on a farm. Not so "weird" now.❤❤❤

Sadly, you never see tongue these days. They came with a lemony white sauce and capers - memories of times past. Must have a word with my butcher. Very inspiring, thank you! ❤

Depending on where you live, you can usually find tongue of many stripes in Asian/Chinese Markets and Latin/Mexican markets as tongue is still a coveted piece of meat in those cultures.

Looks amazing. I have to admit - I had written of Mallorca as a place to visit - thinking it was just a destination to drunk Anglo-Irish 20something party-goers. Seems I need to revisit that conclusion.

Hello , we have something very similar to this here in tunisia,just a bit stronger flavoered with more tomato and a dash of cumin, it's a good hearty winter meal. especially for drinking !

@@Petespans and we tend to add kidney / navy beans,if there's a lot of mouths to feed we have it more on the soupy side so as to eat it with bread, fills you up !

Does everyone in Spain carry an Opinel or is Lola using yours? Must have been nice to just operate a camera and not have to cook as well! So often Mexican and Spanish culture and language do not align, I was interested to know this clay cooking vessel is also called a casuela on your side of the pond. I always feel guilty for discarding the spent veg from stock, perhaps I need to mash up some in the future. Had you planned to shoot beyond dusk, or did some delays cause this? Either way it looked great, those are some excellent lights. I hope we see more of Lola, or more guests time to time! Another great video maestro, cheers from Chicago.

Jejejeje! That's my Opinel! In the latter part of the cooking sequence, Lola had lapsed into Mallorcan (catalan) dialect! No, I hadn't planned to shoot after dark, (keep forgetting it's dark at 5 at the moment) , but yes, pleased with my lights :) Lola will be delighted to hear that her return has been requested :) Many thanks for your support.

Hi Pete. Lucky to have seen this link at the back of your latest video as KZfaq did not notify me of it???? This looks spectacular, and Tongue is such a rich delicacy when prepared correctly. Never tried it with capers, but my experiences with capers lets my imagination go there, and I am enjoying it already. Take care all.

Hi Pete, we cannot get pork tongue here in Ireland but I can get lamb (beef tongue is massive) tongue would that wok as well I wonder, Thanks another Pete.

I love Capers on anything. How does Tongue compare to Beef? I've never had it.
