Me and my fiancé actually went through this a few months ago- me being the one working too much. I don’t have the best job, but when we first started dating I told him that I stay working cause I have goals. We fought a whole lot because he reacted how she did. Trust me, I always said “I need you to be patient,” or “you stay trippin,” but then I finally realized that it wasn’t fair in a way... I thought I prioritized him, but I really was prioritizing my money flow more then anything. When I started to give him more time, went out with him more, I learned that he like everyone else, just wanted to feel loved... not told that he’s loved everyday or that I miss him 24/7, he wanted to feel it. I showed him this song and he told me he slowly started to prepare himself for that change- mentally. I can’t tell y’all how much that hurt and sad it made me just to hear it, but we engaged now! And we as happy as we can be even with everything going on right now. Sometimes all it takes is trying and seeing it from both sides cause Lord knows I need him! 🤣 Sorry for the novel. 😂🤦🏽‍♀️

I don't think the beginning was truly about the overreaction at all. I think it was a perfect example of someone staying too long in something that clearly is not a good fit. People devolve into less attractive or unhealthy versions of themselves when they settle. I don't think him taking that call was a problem at all but her staying long enough for it to become a blow-up moment is. Gosh, surviving abuse taught me a lot, but the most it taught me was: Leave early when red flags are not able to be resolved or you find there are major things that make a situation one that is all about incompatibility. Don't stay so long that you begin to change in unhealthy ways. You'll end up having to undo unhealthy habits and behaviors that are triggered by trauma later. People make time for what they want to make time for. I own multiple businesses and I schedule things accordingly. In the event a business meeting may overlap an event for my wife or children due to time zone constraints, etc then I'll communicate the situation with my family beforehand. The perk of being the boss is you can delegate, set parameters, create your own schedule, openly communicate your needs, etc. You should never stretch yourself so thin that you can't make time for the person or people that matters the most to you. Most importantly, never sit & wait for a person to validate your worth.

I’m actually shocked by the comments on here being we’re mostly women. Even with being busy and having our own bag we still make time for our relationships and do our best to make sure the men are well fed in all aspects of the relationship, but when they become “busy” they don’t know how to multi task and balance life by getting to the bag and still taking care of home. I don’t care how much money a man is bringing in if his job and hobbies are preventing him from being present in the relationship then we might as well be single. I'm a busy woman, I was once dating a busy guy we lasted for 1 year and 6 months. I made time for him, and I ensured that I would have days where he had my undivided attention. She's not wrong for the way she acted, she's dating him, but he's dating his job. I mean she just wants 10 minutes that isn't about work. The guy I was with made my presence feel useless and unwanted, so I left so he can date his job.
