If we talk about the best of the last 20 years, than he might be Top 5 in Germany. He is technically great but his biggest miss is personality and this is extreme important for midfielders on this level.

@@herr_bit Na ja, er meinte mal, Heynckes Anfang der 90er entlassen zu haben, sei sein größter Fehler gewesen. Daher denke ich, dass Hoeneß durchaus Fehler eingestehen kann. Ich sehe es eher so, dass Hoeneß den modernen Fußball nicht mehr begreift. Es ist also Hoeneß, der in diesem Fußball nichts mehr zu suchen hat.

Kroos is such a grounded dude. No star airs. No discrimination. He just does what he's getting paid for: playing football. And that's what i call "an idol". 1st red card in his pro career after ¡752! games. That's impressive. I respect that dude and i'm really really glad he plays for RMCF. ¡Hala madrid y nada mas!

his curved flat shots are amazing - reminds of a bowling shot never with much speed but the accuracy is awesome. he trained that a lot back in the Bayer Leverkusen time - there were public trainings and he was like 19 yrs old at that time

It's that technique when he gives the ball spin from below so it's first going quite fast and then it slows and 'falls' down before reaching the player. It's a super fine technique which you don't see often at all.

Ironically, during his time in the Bundesliga at the early stages of his career he was known for absolutely smacking the shit out of the ball, barely anyone could shoot harder than him. His technique is absolutely flawless though and he realised that precision beats power 9/10 times

His technique is still underrated. There are players having flashier playstyles (like zidane), but I argue that the greatness of his technique comes from the consistency. He never has a bad touch, his passing is insane and when he shoots its always with an idea behind it.

Worldclass, what a player he is. In Germany he sadly never got the recognition he really deserves. His nickname is "Querpass-Toni", which means "Side pass Toni" - which indicates he rarely makes the game fast but likes to slow down and pass sideways or even backwards instead of finding an attacking solution. To say that about a player who has dominated FC Bayern & Real Madrid midfield over a decade is a joke. Yes, he likes to control the game, but that is what he is payed for. And if there is a reasonable offensive passing solution - be sure, Toni will take it.

He was very underrated by Uli Hoeneß (President from Bayern München at this time), but to say he never get the recognition in Germany is not true. A lot of famous/influencial German trainers told him early on, that he has potential to become one of the best players. Since WM 2010 he got trust and playtime from Jogi Löw in the national team. 2014 he was playing every single game and was concidered one of the best players in the tournament in Germany. Everyone who has a decent knowledge of the game loved this guy. In his interviews hes telling that only in Bayern the appreciation was to low.

To me Number 19 (Super Strike) is the most impressive. The keeper know it is coming, it is coming from a distance, but it comes with such velocity and goes as far in the corner as it can that there is no saving it. The camera angle from within the goal shows it. Just impressive. Kroos always had a fine foot.

In Germany a lot of people say he only does safe passes and isn’t that good. He does pass a lot. Over 30000 passes with 28000 on target, 92% accuracy, most passes into the box as well. The greatest players praise him (Zidane, Cr7, Modric etc), he has won everything, is world champion (maybe EM as well).
