@@johnshaw8557 I've worked in recreation therapy with people with dementia for nearly a decade. He is singing and performing, being surrounded by music.....all the things that he loves. That's a billion light years away from being taken advantage of. If he didn't want to do it, or wasn't capable of doing it, he wouldn't be. It just wouldn't work. People with dementia are STILL people, in spite of the fact that society and people like you think it's best to put them in boxes and shield them from the world. The best thing for him is to allow him to do what he loves in whatever capacity he can for as long as he can. As far as the lack of smile goes, it's incredibly common for people with dementia to experience diminished emotional responses to things, or to seem a bit distant. It doesn't mean they aren't content or happy with what they're doing. Keeping them engaged, like Tony is in this performance, is the most important thing them for them. This is a beautiful thing for him to be involved in
