The 2023 Derby City Classic One Pocket Division started with 429 players and came down to this match.
Tony “T-Rex” Chohan is widely accepted as one of the best one pocket players in the game today. He has won almost every major one pocket title available in the game. The only one missing on his resume is this one.
Jonathan Pinegar is dangerous in any game he plays, including one pocket. He was also won many titles in all of the games, but has never won the Derby City Classic One Pocket title.
This was one race to three, alternating break, for the biggest title in one pocket.
Jeremy Jones and his special guest Scott Frost were in the booth.

... Sincere congratulations to Tony as he will always be known as the 2023 D.C. 1 pocket champion & Johnathan has done well for himself ( Yet I know this loss will haunt him for awhile as it should unfortunately ) ... Speaking of Johnathan I remember in 2006 taking him to play Jimmy Ted and I had to be at work like 10 hours later - And Johnathan didn't give one single 💩 What time I had to work or if I was going to lose my job . I'm glad Gabe took him under his wing and helped him tremendously with his attitude and temper . And yeah that chalk dance he does virtually every shot can be extremely annoying if you watch it all the time if you are playing him or even a spectator . Chuurrcch ... Tabernacle .

The commentators on that 4 ball in the hill hill game were completely wrong about where that ball was. They moved it back to the right spot. The commentators should have some type of replay setup in the booth to look at stuff like that and get it right instead of guessing and saying the man is just putting the ball where he wants.

Sorry,your both wrong Talk to Simonis. There is , of course,a felt fabric.And other companies,like for instance Championship,still do produce a felt.And now also produce a worsted cloth. But Simonis first perfected a worsted for Billiard game tables.The difference between a cloth and a felt is very great. You guys should be very careful when you go to recover your table. If you ask for felt, there are companies that will sell you felt. But Simonis will not. So brians8618,please check your facts.Then please let JJ know. Every time he refers to “ the felt” ,those who know better, just consider him a Dofus. I have been “around “ Jeremy for at least 28 years. I know he is Not a dofus. In fact I believe him to be very Intelligent. All the more shame to continue to use the term felt when referring to the table covering most of us play on. If you’ll take notice, Simonis has recently added the word CLOTH to the under side of the rails of tables where they advertise “SIMONIS “ CLOTH. Don’t be Dumbly . adios

@@derrickallen2054 you MAY know, but you may not. You might be one of those who decide to re-cover his home table (maybe you picked it up at a garage sale). You go to a fabric store and ask for “ felt”. Put it on your table. You find that it will not play any thing like the table in a local pool room. You have just wasted your money, your time, and maybe a lifetime of enjoyment for you and your (friends, family, etc). Maybe you knew what he meant (?) Maybe you didn’t. Ignorance is not bliss. Hopefully you and (maybe) others will avoid a major disappointment by this exchange. Thank you!

Didnt know at the Derby they had a rule that you cant shoot both balls off the table. I thought it was a legal shot (but a foul) in one pocket I wonder why they chose to change the rule..

new DCC rule for 2023 (maybe 2022 ?) 400+ field on tables close enough together that flying object balls are risk to others as well as possibly landing on an adjacent table and wreaking havoc on another game. Other tourneys still allow it.

I hope Pinegar had a chat with the ref after the match. Inadvertent fouls do not constitute a foul. Before his jump off of the table, I said, “he can play to jump this ball in, drawing back up table to leave chohan safe”. I do believe that was his intention. “The player at the table is not penalized unless clear evidence is against him”. I honestly believe that was his choice. The look on his face was revealing also. He knew the rule, the ball was far enough out of the pocket, and he situation did not evidence an intentional table jump. Further, the rule is against “Intentional” jumping off the table. Also ref: asking Tony’s opinion on spotting a ball, which furthers Pinegars perspective that Chohan has favor with the ref. Other stuff also, but those two are intertwined. The loss of game must be “a clear indication that a ball was intentionally jumped off of the table”. Put yourself in Pinegars shoes. You fear the call, know it can be made, and you shrug as such because you know you look like a jerk if you argue with a ref, who TOUCHED THE BALLS before alerting the player. Bad example by the ref. We all make bad calls, but this? In the finals of the biggest one pocket event? This, as pinegar needs one game, being 2:1 statistically favored? This, I. A short race to three? That call was the turning point of the match, NOT Chohans play (which was consistent). Pinegar mad a timing error or two, but all he had to do was call a time out and take a leak to straighten that out. Just my humble opinion, don’t think for a second that I can make a ball or make a call lol😂.
@brooster9707
@brooster9707 10 ай бұрын
You have to be joking. You can't be serious with your interpretation of Pinegar's intentions. You don't hit the ball at 80 mph and then say you didn't jump the ball off the table intentionally. Scott Frost immediately called it a foul just because it was to obvious, there was no need to ponder what happened
