A successful career in the NFL would seem to be a dream come true. Money, notoriety, and accolades. Tony Dungy was living that dream, coaching the perennially losing Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a regular spot in the playoffs. It seemed that everything was working out as planned, until he was fired for not winning the championship. Just what was he going to do now?
Eventually repeating the same success as head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, Dungy still battled against doubters in his abilities. Could a Super Bowl victory be the only place of redemption? Or was there another, better way, to understand the big picture of his life?

Tony Dungy is proof that nice guys can finish first! The NFL needs more coaches like him who put the Lord above winning, and the Lord will reward their obedience. God Bless You, Coach Dungy!

Tony has more class in his little finger than half the people in the NFL have in their whole bodies. I really admire and respect him. Time for me to be more like Tony and follow Jesus the right way.

You know what Tony Dungy, I'm a Buc's fan, and even though you were fired, we still made it, with the team you created. It just didn't happen when you were the coach. I still give credit to you for creating a winning team. It was the managment that didn't want to wait. Never forget you have a fan in Tampa!

When Tampa won the 03 SB I said the exact same thing. That was his players , that was his field he had sowed he just didn't get to reap it.

This is a man who seems humble. It's tough to walk his walk and stay humble. Losing a son the way he did and still pressing on. Keeping with his walk with God amid being fired and losing a son didn't break him. Truly admirable. I recommend his book to any and everyone.

Tony dungy is really cool I was in Riley hospital for seizures and Tony came and I got to see him at the hospital and I haven't had a seizure for over 8 years I think it was in 08 or something

Me too! It is a great story. How a person deals with disappoint and defeat, says more about them then how they handle success. Tony has experienced both and is such an admirable man.

The continual manufactured positive spin eludes me. It makes a couple of my friends angry..my less than fluffy outlook. I guess I'm still learning. Keep your eyes up..keep forging ahead..stay out of the results. Hasn't worked yet. I'm 66

God spoke to me and said comment. This is uncomfortable bc I never comment but here it goes. I’m asking for I am Second to consider aligning with the Asbury University revival currently happening. How amazing would it be for an NFL stadium to be packed out with people shouting for Jesus. These amazing men of God like Tony, have so many followers. Football is like God to so many. Uncle Javi- clearly god didn't send his own son to kill himself. He sent him to do due and return from the dead and show everyone the greatest sacrifice for all of us.
