It's great how humble Tony is considering he is the inventor of heavy metal

And invented a new genre of music in the process. We are very fortunate to be alive in the age of Hendrix, Page, Blackmore, amd Iommi.

The first Black Sabbath album is my favourite, and in my opinion, their best. They had many, many great albums over the years in different incarnations, but that first one was special, right down to the cover art.

It's also one of their only albums with good artwork. Aside from Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, the rest are very amateur.

@@Gabe-1997 I also liked the artwork for "Mob Rules" and "Live Evil". But the first album was my favourite. First saw the artwork when I was 15, and it scared the hell out of me.

The styles between sabbath, ac/dc and motörhead are so different but in the beginning it always be the same. Start, plug in and riff it!

AC/DC and Motorhead are pure energy. Sabbath was heavy... But that didn't stop them from having groove, melody, progressive elements, acoustic segments and much more. No disrespect to the other two bands... But I wouldn't put Sabbath in the league of AC/DC and Motorhead.

@@mark_beastpriest5539 I don’t understand the appeal of early hard rock. I always grew up with glam metal and 80s NW heavy metal.
@mark_beastpriest5539
@mark_beastpriest5539 3 жыл бұрын
@@OriginalKingRichTv Early hard rock is about bone crunching heavy riffs, and pounding drums. I never liked glam metal myself as it was aimed mostly at female audiences. The idea of some dude using hairspray and wearing more makeup than my sister never sat well with me. I'll take Slayer over Poison any day. Having said that, I'm not critizising your personal tastes. If that's you, than ok. For me, the heavier, louder and uglier, the better. At least I can relate.

@@Hzim007 Agreed. In reality, though, every Sabbath album is special in it's own way. I have all of them, and there really isn't one I don't like. Maybe "Forbiden", but there is supposed to be a newly remixed and remastered version coming out soon, as soon as they're done ca$hing in on the same old Ozzy sh*t for the bazillionth time.

It's somehow difficult to understand why in Italy that type of music/musicians/bands are not even popular as there are many musicians in rock/metal (well..not of italian nationality) but of italian ancestry...examples: Tony Iommi, Phil Anselmo, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Glenn Danzig, Max & Igor Cavalera, Ronnie James Dio...& so on). In Italy (Italians in general) are more into pop music, pop rap. The only rock artists they truly like are Vasco Rossi & Ligabue. Strange.
