Wow. I loved what he said about raising our bar for what is "suffering" and realizing that we can free ourselves from it. Even feelings of overwhelm is "suffering," and although I love my life and can say that I'm happy most of the time, I do get overwhelmed and thought that it was just a part of the journey. But we don't have to let ourselves suffer. I love it. Also I got so excited when he talked about "the Art of fulfillment" because that's totally what my blog and channel are about :). I used to be into the "science" aspects like productivity and success strategies but more and more I love exploring simply things that bring me more joy and more love. My motto is "life is an art. make it your masterpiece." Hearing Tony emphasize this importance really makes my heart sing. Thanks Marie, as always! Two amazing human beings in one video :D

The best interview ever! And to hear Tony talk about RECEIVING, ahhhmazing. He has grown a lot! I have never heard him talk about the receiving before and this has been my biggest issue before wth him always talking end, and I always felt that was missing. As a giver I didn't need to be taught to give, I had to learn to receive because I realised my giving wasn't getting me anywhere unless I allowed myself to receive. I LOVED THIS. Thank you, Marie 🙏💕🎯💥

MIND BLOWING. "All lasting change happens in an altered state." HUGE. I remember my first 'date' with Tony, picking up Awaken The Giant Within (the book) and read it voraciously over and over. Next was playing Tony's tapes over and over and over in my car. It did WONDERS. You guys have made me AWARE and I'll be at Date With Destiny in Australia in 20127. THANK YOU

It's amazing how many people go through the same struggles silently. I took so much from this interview. Thank you for doing the work that you do. I'll be replaying this a lot!!! I'm going to try to make these things a habit. -Allowing thoughts to come and go without lingering on them - we have been hypnotised by our culture to settle for things - success leaves clues ( my absolute favourite)

It really resonated with me that we fall in love with 'disowned' aspects of ourselves. I have experienced that a lot. It reminds you to take responsibility for those aspects instead of just drooling over someone else who has them.

One of the most powerful KZfaq videos I've ever watched, on so many levels. Watching Tony work with the gentleman stops time every time I've seen it. So powerful. You can feel the shift happen, the love, the acceptance, likely for the first time for that fella. Near the end, when Tony asks "what parent did you crave love from"...game changer. Mind blown. Thank you Marie for being open with Tony's questions and sharing, and thank you both for this profound interview. :)

Great point, but I slightly disagree. I agree there will always be negative thoughts and situations, that is life. However suffering is the resistance to them. As Tony mentioned in that video, you first fully accept and be with whatever negative thought you may have, then you deal with. No identification or resistance. Once you master doing that there is no suffering. The hard part is mastering that, and it is what makes Tony so special.

The most memorable part for me is seeing how Tony Robbins is not intimidated by challenges in the face of helping people; in fact, he thrives on them as opportunities to grow and accelerate his own progress. For example he mentions how sometimes what he tries won't work, but that this doesn't stop him because he will keep changing his approach until he prevails. This thriving on challenge is why he puts in that extra work even while he is not working to "make new distinctions" from age 18 to age 58, and it is also why, in the early stages of his career, he has said he actively sought out difficult clients. I think this is a mindset that just about everyone who has made rapid progress in an area can relate to on some level. Having a tendency to shrink from, avoid, or minimise problems and challenges in a particular area restricts our progress substantially, while having in that area feelings of commitment, excitement, and total focus in the face of those challenges sets us free to keep growing quickly.

Robin Williams passing was absolutely heart breaking but to be fair he was suffering from Lewy Body Dimentia and he was really not in the right state of mind no choice of his own. I was incurable, degenerative disease and it wasn't something he can "snap out of it" or choose to "un-suffer" from :(

The part where he went into the fact that opposite energies attract people into relationships, and went into more detail about how we can get sick of those qualities that we wish we had in ourselves in some way, shape, or form - that was a hidden gem for me! I might apply that to myself in relation to the applicable qualities my girlfriend has that have been making me feel that way, and I know eventually it'll come up to the point where I end up having to share the message with her.. Lol I can't wait for that part. She's pretty resistant to self help and personal development at times She bulldozes her way through things and is a real driver, sometimes I wish I could do that I'm an analytical at heart (overthinking problem), and the life of the party/center of attention, more spontaneous, outgoing, determined and positive about things being in my control, and I feel like these qualities make her uncomfortable at times (if I'm not fully mistaken of course) 😁😁😁😁😁 I could go on on

What was most valuable to me, and I love Tony, I’ve followed him for decades, was YOUR realization about your relationship with your significant other! I love the “replace expectation with appreciation”. That is it in a nutshell! I am ultra aware of expectations, and I have a lot of them. I feel that I sometimes have to keep my expectations high or everything will go downhill. What I love about the comment is that it is a single moment problem solver! I’m going to use that on myself and improve many future moments in my marriage, and teach it to my 20 year old daughter! That’s my biggest take away.

Many powerful moments in this one. I read Awaken the Giant Within over 20 years ago in high school. I grew up with many similar stories as Tony and when he told the story of his son lacking work ethic I had an aha moment about myself as I built my life from nothing to something and that survivor growth mindset fueled me and I just couldn't see it in my son which led me to be frustrated out of fear that he wouldn't have what he needs to survive. We had a great conversation about it and I realized he didn't need to, that wasn't his need. He would start from a place I never did and all I needed to do was help him grow from there. Any resource freed up can be reinvested and this helped me reinvest in a better blueprint for my son and relationship.

Or get the job, save most of your pay, start your music business on the side and quit the job when the music pays your way.

That strategy won't work, you would split yourself into half, dividing your energy. The job would take too much energy away to have the energy needed for the musicianship

I LOVED this! I just watched the documentary last night, and I cried and laughed and it was truly inspirering! And this conversation you just had here, also amazing - it reminded me of that you can ALWAYS work on yourself. Often I think we forget to look inwardly, and instead blame outer things in our lifes - when what we need to do, is to work on ourselves. I love this, and you are both SO inspirering and such huge inspirations and role models for me. Thank you!

Thank you Marie and thank you Tony for this powerful, thought-provoking interview ! So many ah-ha moments. My biggest takeaways were : When you trade your expectation for appreciation, in that moment, your whole life changes. That is so powerful for me, to always be grateful in every moment. And like you Tony, I want to live the happiest human life humanly possible, because I know in that state, I’m better for every human I can serve, including myself.

Dear Tony and Marie, I have not recieved all of your messages, but I know Mr Robbins has been a source of encouragement. Forgive me to criticise anything that either of you do to help other people, but Tony, to use the word F**k does not make any sense in my tool box of ideas for advancing in life. It's crude; it's playing to the crowd; it's the easy way to hitting the targe; but it ain't serious. Peace

Ooooh weee! That question, "Who could you NEVER be for your mother or father?" really hit me hard. I have analyzed myself enough to know that I have been trying to live up to the expectations (implied and stated) of my mother, but I didn't even realize how I had disconnected from my true essence because some of the things I truly wanted wouldn't "please" her. Wow. Thank you so much for this wonderful episode Marie!

Great stuff. The part where he talks about being a giver, makes me think of how it states in the Bible that it's more blessed to give than receive. Unfortunately, many interpret this to mean that it's blessed to give, not receive. Also, what Tony said about couples, reminds me of the old saying that what Peter says about Paul says more about Peter than Paul.

love this video, I feel like everybody spends so much time giving off this false image of perfection that when I have a bad day it almost makes you feel unhuman or inadequate, but its nice to see a real conversation where real thoughts and real emotions are being discussed thanx MARIE AND TONY!!!

This conversation has totally changed my LIFE "Trade in your expectations for Appreciation and your LIFE will change immediately" From the moment I thought about that and repeated it in my head, my shoulders dropped and felt the stress the tension relieve...That's what had been ruling MY Life!. And reclaiming those traits in my Life that I started disliking in my Wife!... POWERFUL Transformative!!! I'm GLAD I watched this, I didn't "expect" this I Appreciate the conversation! :) I can NOW Exhale!!! (exhales)

This is gold and why did i not see this years ago it would have changed so much! I truly belive that information comes to you at the right time. I get what he said turn expectation into appreciation - it totally resontated with me and I feel like I can just let go because I am a lot like Marie a driven perfectionist who rarely takes time to just rest and vacation, and my mind auto defults to finding problems because I am a problem solver that is my nature but i can get picky and look for things that aren't there.

Marie and Tony! I feel the emotion that I would feel when I say, "I'm speechless" but, I don't know the correct identification for it. I feel so fortunate to have seen this today. This Wednesday will be 10 weeks since my mom died. The biggest take away I got was that up until this point I have been craving my mom's love. I didn't think that was true until now because our relationship was fairly stressful before she got sick. I had to be perfect and the best at what I did always otherwise it wasn't good enough. I couldn't be the second best. I couldn't speak my mind. When she got sick, I wanted to take care of her. I had the most knowledge about her diseases because I was trained for it. Before she died she told me she never wanted me to become a nurse. Sadly, neither did I but, there I was, doing my best to be perfect and also living with the knowledge and previous experience of what the death cycle looked like but, also doing my best to keep my shit together. I never realized that so many of my adulthood life decisions stemmed from me craving my mom's love. It makes perfect sense. This interview. A sincere thank you.

ASTONISHING CONVERSATION! I absolutely loved every nugget of information. The parts about whose love did you crave more re your parents, not taking from people, giving yourself time to develop and the last part about finding things irritating or loving about another person and how to nurture yourself to make those things alive in yourself was a nail on the head! All great realisations - Thank you Robbins
