Thank you for posting this. Miss Uggams is so essential to the fabric of American Entertainment History. I thank God for her.

I actually remember Ms Uggams singing The Whole World In His Hands on Name That Tune ! She was extremely popular and I remember we all sat around the tv watching this young girl with the wonderful voice belting away while clapping her hands in rhythm. Years and years later I was lucky enough to see her in Hallelujah Baby ! ...All grown up and beautiful .

Probably not a wig by the way. I feel guilty. I am 10 yrs. younger than her and remember Leslie from Mitch Miller. A fine singer and actress. She should have gotten more fame... but if she is happy and content, so are my wife and I. We are proud she is a NYer... and a damned good singer and entertainer!
