Stelios Kiosses and his team tackle the excesses of former Coronation Street actress Tricia Ford (Pauline Walsh), whose house is infested with rats, making her too embarrassed to invite friends over. The psychotherapist also meets a jazz enthusiast whose burgeoning music collection has left his girlfriend with no room to stay.

The husband David...he seems like a person that is a part of the things that hold this woman back to move on. He will not be able to really cope...because if she heals and moves on, he has to move on too. And that means finding own purpose and not just blaming her all day and have an own journey. Sometimes people, despite liking each other, are not good for each other.

I'm so happy that this show doesn't put the hoarders on display like other shows I've seen. When I watch other shows, it feels like they're really just there to shame the people and then clean their stuff without actually helping them. But I think it's great that this show promotes compassion and teaches people that there are proper ways to help people who become hoarders. If I were a hoarder and I watched this, I think I might be encouraged to reach out to someone for professional help.

If you'll notice, the US versions have homeowners in a crisis situation. They're usually about to lose their homes. So, they have to clear the homes first and offer them aftercare funds to continue therapy and organization learning.

@@B_Bodziak no, they don't offer them any aftercare or actual therapy. this is why 90% of the people on US hoarders relapse. they only get a small talent fee for being on the show, and only because in certain states its the law.

There are a few differences with the UK version of Hoarders (when compared to the US version). The UK version really focuses on therapy and helping the individual. The US version only devotes the very beginning (and end) to therapy with giant dumpsters and moving vans and "junk trucks" taking over the Hoarder's home. It's just very interesting to compare and contrast the two versions. The UK version also focuses more on relationships and people as well (and not on the mess, if that makes sense). I enjoy both shows, but I find myself feeling more uplifted after watching the UK version! :)

The US version has people who are in a crisis and about to lose their homes. They are limited to clearing the house first and then doing therapy afterwards. None of the homeowners on the British shows are faced with the city condemning their houses or having adult services called.

Amazing episode. I wanna say so much, but I'm just gonna say I love You Tricia and Paul. You are amazing people with just a little twist in your lives. And Paul - I am You. I wanna have all the music that I love because it's pleasure, collectible thing, and knowledge about music history. CD's, DVD's, magazines. Love it, and won't get rid of it 'till I live.

This was such a wonderful episode of this show. I enjoyed it so much. I enjoyed it because I loved watching the Hoarders deal with the situation, get the help they needed and were able to move forward. They may have a few hiccups along the way, but at least now, they have a chance to move forward. I think Trish has a wonderful friend in Julie, who despite the fact that she didn't understand her friend's hoarding, she stood by her and helped her. Most importantly she didn't make a judgement of her friend or put her down in any way.

Watching this has reinforced an odd thought that I have had over the years. I have always been neat, tidy, and I love to organize my things. Growing up, my sisters always made fun of me, and when I got married and got my own place, they continued to make a joke of it. My husband gets aggravated if I reorganize something, and then he cannot find it. I tell him if I have moved something. Therefore, keeping my house very neat has always brought up feelings of shame. I am going thru a session of cleaning and organizing that I do every spring, and these feelings have washed over me again. It is just the opposite of the people in this show!! I wonder what Stelios would say about that!

I love England’s hoarders. For some reason they always seem more willing to be helped and are more pleasant than their American counterparts. I can’t watch the hoarders in the US sometimes. Too much drama, too mean and stubborn, and frankly some are just too out of touch with reality- so on the shows with hoarders like that I’ll just stop watching.

@@thegreenmanofnorwich True. It's mostly throwing everything of the hoarder's possessions into the garbage then cleaning the whole place so that they can show the "transformation". I’ve watched hoarding shows over and over in the past four months as I clean and declutter. It has helped me throw away BOXES and BOXES of stuff I had in the closet in my classroom! I’ve prayed and actually closed my eyes to chuck away books and papers without going through the junk!! I am committed to keeping my bedroom clean -no clothing or books on the floor or dresser. I have three family members who hoard-iI’m the only one who is confronting it. I’ve spent too much money, and over-eaten. Hun, prayer works! I’m praying for both of us to be healed within ourselves-from the inside out. As we begin to just love ourselves by faith, we can free ourselves more and more of the burdens we have carried within ourselves and in doing so, we can rid ourselves of the outside junk. Be compassionate and caring and loving towards our own selves!!!

Is this really your real name, or are you my gf Julia who lives in a 44 foot viscount caravan... 1978 model? Shes got a great long trailer full of stuff from her mother's property and you cant see her plant pots.. very overgrown or other things like pressed metal patio sets or birdcages full of grass and I tried to open a window the other day cos she left the heater on and she was not right and I moved the lace curtains and they shredded and tore .. I was gentle and just wanted to let fresh air in. Shes got home help once a week in to reduce the 'stuff'. Mostly clothes, shoes, bags, rando bits of paper.
