@@TheVCAdventures just rode up the road, nociamento, one of if not the best road climb I've done. Went down he back side, work crews just let us by. Rode thru the army ranch, civilians where allowed on the paved roads. Camped just outside the army zone. Rode the Arroyo secco Indian road the next day, some washouts and overgrown sections but overall a fantastic ride. Good luck

im new to biking and i got a question: i got from this video that the bigger the ratio between the front ring and the back gears, the better it is to go up high elevation - is that correct? so that means that we might not need multiple front rings bc as long as you have a big enough ratio between a single front ring and the biggest back gear, you are save to bike up elevations... curious about this bc i always thought that having multiple front rings was the best way to go but now i wonder why people would have two or three front rings if they could have just one that allows for a big enough ratio
@TheVCAdventures
@TheVCAdventures 7 ай бұрын
I run a 1x on everything. I love it. The rotor setup I have is a 11/52 in the rear, and 52 in the front. You have to have a MTB derailleur to fit that range though. My main gravel bike has a 44 : 11:52, so a more than 1:1 ratio from front to back. So that thing can climb up anything.

it depends on the single track. I have ridden serpent like trails on the flat or slightly hilly and it is very fun. And don't forget were mtb came from. Modern geo allow you to get faster, not necessarly farther.
