It was a force. As soon as I saw the 3 of clubs as the first discard, it had to be a forced pick. I dont know how, but if you look at a lot of Penn and Teller acts, the 3 of clubs is a recurring theme. Almost as if it is an in joke among majicians. If you see the 3 of clubs come up in a card trick, the fix is already in.

He manipulated the guys choice by predicting when he’d split the deck or keep it. I’d still give him credit on knowing which card. Magic is basically capitalizing on humans blind spots, subconscious, and sometimes choice of words
