LOVE the thought of going back and absorbing the lyrical content because it is profound...and you will discover things anew. Been listening since 93 and it never gets old. It gets better. I am here for every second of that. Keep going...

The confetti was an illusion... Beautifully badass!! Plus the visuals on the screen. Rorschach images....which is a psychology test.

I was at the show the first time they played this live. We had seen the set lists from the shows before, so this was a great surprise. All four of them sat in a semi circle at the front of the stage, with Danny actually playing rhythm guitar for the first half of the song until he had to go back to the drum kit.

Maynards voice and the rhythmic instrumentals are nothing I've heard before. They can do this ballad and be so hard but done so well. BEST BAND EVER

I have not studied Tool enough, personally. They came along just as I was "growing up" and going in a different direction. The only reason I got exposed was my brother who is a decade younger than I am. He kept me up to speed on the heavier side of things. Pantera, Clutch, Corrosion of Conformity etc... Hence, I enjoy the Tool reactions differently. Good stuff.

This one didn’t go into my watch later playlist… I have been waiting for a while to hear you react to “Culling Voices”. I know it’s not everyone’s favourite off the album, but the just something so freaking special about it. Maynard’s voice, the instruments, the lyrics, the feels I get are just different to me. Oh and yes please to going over their music with lyrics… it’ll add that other dimension for you. Thank you for yet another awesome reaction Michael 🙏🏻🙌🏻

Your description of how listening to this band take you on your own ‘path’ is exactly how I feel listening to them. They’re one of my favourite bands and this my favourite album of theirs, I’ve heard it hundreds of times and I’m still excited every time to discover a new ‘path’. Totally agree with everything you said. Been a TOOl fan now for a few years , they are unique and spiritual. I am a 65 year old English guy and i just want to come to the USA and give you a hug :P

I was instantly in love with this song the first time listening to it. It almost felt like I had heard it before and connected to it in such a profound way. So glad you enjoyed this one! Maynard’s vocals are just the best in this one. Hauntingly beautiful.

I appreciate you so much!! I know ppl love Lateralus (and I do to) but THIS is my fav Album of ALL time!! And this is MY fav SONG (I think? lol) on this album. (I think?! lol) It's a rediculous task your right! Someone asked me recently if I was stuck on a deserted island and (happened to have ELECTRONICS apparently?) could only listen to 1 album which would it be? Without hesitation I said LATERALUS. I had a question, coming from an engineers point of view - what were your thoughts or comparisons to Tool's 3 engineers/co-producers: Sylvia Massey (Opiate, Undertow) David Bottrill (Aenima/Salival/Lateralus) Joe Barresi (10,000 Days/Fear Inoculum) Always excellent reviews.

Hope you see this. Was scrolling through your Tool list and it doesn't look like you have done Lost Keys (Blame Hoffman)/Rosetta Stoned. They go together and will rock your world.
