Dude it's so crazy, I was just thinking the same damn thing. I see races starting to become obsolete. That's something I've never recognized in my 40 years on this planet. This is so amazing. Iv been sensing a vibration shift CALLING ME to ascend! And it was TOOL that got me up another level. Finally! Some recognition for this song. I honestly think the band evolved, but the fan base didn't. This song to me could easily extend to mental health in general. Love it. Master piece? Yes.

I’ve heard this song is about people’s talking behind your Back and then hearing about these comments and knowing they exist and then have others tell you they don’t exist 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️. Something like bro. But it’s a lovely song. I’ve not heard a song like this…ever. The change-over is so subtle 👍👍👍…no weaknesses 😜

The subtleties of this song is what makes it amazing to me. There are so many layers of guitar that keep adding in slowly. Just like the voices that Maynard is talking about with the lyrics

If you haven't already, check out angry Maynard. OG angry maynard would be "Hush" off their debut EP "Opiate", others would be "Hooker with a penis" off "AEnima", their second full album, or "Ticks and Leeches" off "Lateralus" (which many consider their best album).

Man... No weaknesses indeed. I remember the day this album came out, I went down in the basement by myself and just listened to the entire album front to back twice. This song caught me... I recall some friends saying "7empest is my fave" or "Pneuma did it for me" or "Descending is the one" I just sat back and recall typing "Everyone is all 7empest and Pneuma, and I'm over here like where's the love for "Culling Voices"?" Glad to see it had an effect on you as well.

The grudge is a good song by tool as well. 7emptest and descending are good off of this same album. Wings for Marie and 10,000 days are great but have to be listened too together. Don’t know if you have done those songs or not

Maynards lyrics are very thought provoking and have a very deep meaning, that could be reinterpreted differently throughout your life. Plus one of the best voices in musics history.

Your partially right. There are also those conversations we have, where we imagine talking to others. For instance, if you are thinking about asking a girl out, then you might go through several scenarios in your head. In those scenarios your mind creates the reaction you think the other person will have. Those conversations and altercations can taint your view of others, even though they never really happened, and the persons reaction was actually a construct of your imagination.

No weaknesses. 10,000 Days is a fave song for the gym (spin or treadmill) but you need to react to Wings for Marie as well as pt 2, ie 10,000 Days. This song and Invincible are my faves from the new Tool. Other underrated Tool tracks are Jimmy, Hooker w/ a Penis, Third Eye which is very trippy, Triad which is instrumental, and the Patient. I think you’ll dig the lyrics in those that have them. I like your philosophy & thanks for the Tool analysis.

So... Thank you. seriously. I played along and closed my eyes with you and challenged myself on an aspect of my character I've never been proud of. I didn't expect much from the moment but I wanted to support someone experiencing this gem for the first time, but I had a legitimate break through on how I need to move forward and change that negative aspect of myself. I had a sincere moment of growth through this video. appreciate that.

The line about "conversations we've never had." I think is about... when you're stuck in your own head over analyzing a situtation that hasn't happened. Like when a gf wakes up and hits her bf because he cheated on her in the dream. Kind of like that. You put yourself into an emational state over something that didn't happen. Hence the title of the song "Culling Voices"

I don't know what you've heard so far, but I would recommend you finish the album and then start at the beginning with Opiate and work all the way back to Fear Inoculum in order
