That's what I think people thought in the 60's about a bunch of bands. Crazy that this is the only band I feel that way about currently. Trent Reznor being another artist I feel that way about. Both saved my life at different times in my lifetime so maybe it's just me.

Yeah bro, he totally is, what do you do for work where he came into? In 2013 in Sydney, I got the VIP experience ticket. It was the best things still to this day I've ever done. We got to go to sound check in an indoor stadium of 15,000-20,000, depending on set-up, they did 4 songs, there was only 20 of us. Then they put us in this classroom sized room, and said one member will be with you soon. The 20 of us sit there, and in cruises Adam. He was so humble, sweet, honest. He opened with something along the lines of 'hey guys, I'm Adam, this isn't a question and answer session, this is just a bunch of people having a chat. . He spent like an hour talking with us, then had his guitar, we all got to hold and play it, then showed us how he wrote jambi..just a genuine dude!

The progression from Undertow to this is absolutely mind boggling. Some friends of mine said they didn't dig on 10,000 Days as much as previous work, but to me it was so much more complicated, more indicative of the progression of a man's life, or rather his perception of the progression of mankind through his years. This has so much feeling for me.

Not defending him or the nature of this, but when becoming this popular it’s hard to stay humble. I greatly respect anyone who makes it the world stage and doesn’t get full of themselves for even a moment. It’s just human. Now being able to keep your ego in check while all of that goes on is incredible. I can’t say for sure if anyone does that, but it seems like Keanu Reeves might be one of them

@quartzlcc I mean he can write some pretentious lyrics but he seems like a grounded dude. Just is a bit of a jerk to fans and half of that is him trolling. After listening to interviews, reading stuff that people who have met him have said and observing his lyrics, I just think that he's got his own persona. It's not the outgoing nice guy one but one where he chooses to seclude himself and enjoy life with people and activities he values. I've never heard anyone close to him, musician or otherwise, really speak negatively of him. I think that says something. Also check out his video series The Art of Work.

The sheer brilliance and artistry come from 4 people totally and completely understanding what each other brings to the project, and a deep understanding of how that dynamic plays into each of their own ego's. Music and mood first, then Maynard attachs vocals to it that he feels represent the feel of whatever he feels. Its a literal simple process but it grants us musical, and artistic genius everytime.

"Invincible" Lyrics (interpretation) Longing tooth and soul Longing for another win Merge into the (frame/fray) Weapon out and bellied in A warrior, struggling to remain, consequential Go around Bold and proud Where I've been? Here I am Beating chest and drum Beating tired bones again Age-old battle, mine Weapon out and bellied in Tales told of battles won Of things we've done Come give your love, again Beating tired bones tripping through, remember when? Once invincible, now the armors wearing thin, heavy shield down Warrior, struggling, to remain, relevant Warrior, struggling, to remain, consequential Cry aloud, bold and proud Where I've been Here I am Where I am Warrior, struggling to remain, relevant Warrior, struggling to remain, consequential A tear in my eyes, chasing Ponce de Leons fountain sword Filled with (holes/hope), I can taste mythical Sultans false hope, perhaps, but the truth never got in my way Before now, feel the sting, feeling time, bearing down In my eyes, chasing Ponce de Leons fountain sword Filled with (holes/hope), I can taste mythical Sultans false hope, perhaps, but the truth never got in my way Before now, feel the sting, feeling time, bearing down False hope, perhaps, but the truth never got in my way Before now, feel the sting, feeling time bearing down Bearing down

People. Something to think about - billions of lives have gone by in the past that have never experienced Tool. To be among the few in our history that could do that - it's an honor to be here with you all.

Cant wait to hear the studio version. Its tough listening to a Tool song for the 1st time live. I was at the St Louis show and this recording catches what i couldnt hear from my seat. This song rocks though

@ToolArchive, I very much remember when your channel posted the intro to this song as a possible new riff off a new album. That was a few years back. Never thought it would turn into something quite powerful like this.

I love this set up: guitar & bass out front, drums & vocals in the back. No frontman. Put the focus on the music.

God, every time I revisit this song I see it is so much more beautiful, more meaningful - layers of stunning complexity are revealed that I didn't really hear on first listen. Now that I understand the lyrics, this song truly does move me to tears in the right moment. It can also be so potently motivating in a way that says to me, *"there is no space right now for worrying about trivialities & unknowns, the past - just press forward, one foot in front of the other. You have to keep moving no matter what. Draw upon your Inner Warrior who is Divine, Eternal and Invincible, and press on."* There is so much going on here, what seems relatively simple at first glance, time has proven to be much more sophisticated, beautiful & ultimately inspiring. Tool has again created something Timeless.

I was fortunate enough to find Tool as a senior in college in 1994. Back when MTV had a top ten countdown, they would play the video for Sober. My friends and I were hooked. 25 years later, I still get a chill on the back of my arms when I hear something new by them
