Great video. Do you disconnect the battery or take out any fuse before you take the pump out?

No, just make sure the key is off.

hey there.. in the middle of the video you removed a hose from the fuel filter.. I accidently dropped it into the fuel tank and I think it got a little bit of gas in it. does air or gas travel through that hose? thanks.
@ToolDemos
@ToolDemos 9 ай бұрын
It pulls fuel from the other side of the tank. If you look at the tank, there’s a big hump in the middle where the driveshaft goes through. That hose is the only way to get gas out of the other side.

Nice DIY!!! My fuel gauge on my 02 HL no longer goes up after filling up my gas tank :( I think the sending gave out. Can you please let me know where you purchase the sending unit? Thank you!!

Not many places offer it without buying the whole pump assembly. Toyota does have it. Part number 83320-48012.

Good video bro defintiely following this highlander series. Is the cat missing or some kind of exhaust leak? Or does it just sound like the Highlander had a loud rumble when the engine came on?

Thanks, I appreciate you. The flex pipe is cracked, but the entire exhaust is getting replaced.

I watched few more videos and asked few more questions to dealer mechanics I think I found the issue with my AC; tested the compressor with power from battery and clutch works ok, then removed AC relay tested continuity ok between the 2 silver leads but when applying power to them the brass leads gives 0.1 and 0.3 ohms, it suppose to give continuity, seems that relay which is the original is open; I am not recovering the freon and now facing what to do with all the AC Tools I bought and the parts; compressor, evaporator, condenser, seals, oil, drier element, all close to $2K, may keep the tools for future issues but the parts thinking i can send them back if the AC will not be recovered it may be as simple as getting a relay and charge system to proper level if needed; the manifold connected to low pressure reads 65 PSI engine off of course, with an outside Temperature of 110F, seems system may be low on freon, that would not trigger the AC switch and with that relay apparently bad seems I could bring this AC system to live, provided car will start of course.

Thanks for the video, where would I find the fuel filter on a 2006 Toyota Highlander ?

There isn't one on this car, just that strainer sock on the bottom of the pump.

The fuel filter is part of the entire fuel pump assembly. Look on rockauto and you'll see all the individual components you can buy.

Great video! I'm a new subscriber and I have been enjoying your highlander series. I have a 2007 highlander that cranks right up and stops immediately. I checked the fuel pump relay and fuses and all were good. I retrieved the codes and it had stored codes PO351,PO352,PO353,PO354,PO355,PO356. I didn't think all ignition coils could fail at the same time. Do you have any ideas on what it could be that prevents it from starting. Thanks for your help and keep up the great work:)
@ToolDemos
@ToolDemos Жыл бұрын
Awesome! Thank you. Your ignition coils all share the same power and ground circuits. If the fuse blew, it could be a likely cause for all six codes. Also, if the ground was interrupted or removed, it would have the same effect. The fuse should be marked AM2 in the under hood fuse box. The ground should be screwed into the body under the hood. All that being said, I noticed you say it started right up and then shut off. Does that mean the engine was running for a short time? If so, does it do that every time or only sometimes?

@@marcusscott9800 it could be a security issue. Pay attention to the security light on the dash. Does it go out when you turn the key? You could try using the spare key also.

highlander 2007 , the heat is half is that normal or not ?
@ToolDemos
@ToolDemos Жыл бұрын
If the engine is only heating up half as much as it should, it could mean that the thermostat is stuck open. If you mean the engine is getting warm, but the heat coming out of the vent is not warm enough, that could mean your heater core is clogged up. It could also be air in the cooling system or a mechanical problem with your ventilation system.

How's it going? I got some follow up questions on my 2007 Toyota highlander 3.3 that cranks up and stops immediately. I have replaced the fuel pump, spark plugs and coils, cleared the codes and tried to start it and it still starts and stops immediately. Code reader shows PO351,PO352,PO353,PO354,PO355,PO356 again. Any ideas or tips would be appreciated. Thanks again for all you do:)

@@marcusscott9800 We can’t assume that the codes are related to the problem you’re having let’s try one check before we go on. Go to the intake tube near the airbox in the engine compartment and unplug the MAF sensor. Try to start the car and see if this changes anything. Those ignition codes tell me that we are looking for a common problem. Each ignition coil shares the same power supply. If you have a test light or voltmeter, I would check the power supply at the ignition coils to see if it remains constant. You might need someone to start the engine while you’re testing the circuit.
