My lost exclusively indoor cat is hiding somewhere in my neighbor's backyard, which is literally like a junk yard. I removed a couple of fence boards so he can come back. I last saw him in my yard a few days ago. But as soon as I called his name, he slowly moved into the greenery and vanished. I suspect he went back into the junkyard. I set a trap by the fence, but no bites. However, the last 2 nights, food was eaten, which was not the case for the entire previous week since he ran away. He typically prefers kibbles over canned food. Are you suggesting that I lure him with smelly food instead of his normal food?

My sweet rescue kitty accidentally got out last week when I was decorating for Halloween for my son. My front door didn't latch and before I knew it, she was outside. I have been in tears! Building that trust with her, being her person, knowing she had been through something that made her so untrusting is amazing. I have had that exact same trap since one day after she got out. She is getting the food everytime, but getting out without setting it off. My son watched her do it on the way to the bus the other day. I have caught two possums (and took them to a much safer place for them and released them) and a neighbors cat who was very mad at me as I let it free. But mine is too savy and I don't know what to do😭😭.

Our 6 month old kitten got out of the house yesterday afternoon, and we are desperate to get her back home, especially since we live in a heavily-wooded area for the most part. We actually saw her on our Ring doorbell camera a little after midnight. She had walked right up to the front door, but when she heard us coming to the door, she ran under a bush in my front yard, which we didn’t know at the time. But we searched the immediate areas around the house, and even used a flashlight to search that bush, but no luck. Even on the video, I couldn’t see her coming back out of the bush. I am considering using one of these humane traps, and I have found a place that actually loans them out free for 2 weeks with a deposit. My question is, what is the likelihood of that door slamming down and injuring her tail, since it shuts very quickly and very hard? Also, being a small girl, maybe 6lbs or so, will she even be heavy enough to trigger to door release? Thanks in advance.

When I setup the trap today I used Fancy Feast Ocean Whitefish & Tuna Feast. Should I used human can food Sardines ? My cat(Tiny) looked just once outside dry food and he wasn't even curious about Cat can food inside of trap. Yesterday I place same can food top of dry food outside and he ate all the can food.

I found my lost cat 1/2 mile away another neighborhood. I placed food there everyday and he was comming to eat food. I saw he is comming 11:25am while I was sitting in the car and I come out of car and call his name but he ignored me and disappeared. Next day I setup the trap waited in the car. He came 10:55am but he didn't eat dry food outside from same place or wet cat food from inside. He just looked food and disappeared fast. How can I trap him or recognize me to bring home safely.

I'm trying to help a lady get her cat back. She lost him miles from me. This was over a week ago. She has a trap she is bringing tonight. She said she won't be leaving it, though. I'm concerned she may not capture him because it isn't here long enough. It will be in my yard. I've seen one that resembles hers four nights now. Is it possible that it came this far from where it escaped? I'm sending her your video since it's the only one, I've seen, that addresses this problem fully.

My cat stays around some houses that feed stray cats, and we have a lot in the area how do I use a trap to get him. The people feeding the cats won't cooperate. I think they look at the strays as their cats.

My sweet and shy cat went out 5 nights ago. Still no sign of her. I have walked around calling her. I’ve posted on FB and I’ve taken a flashlight and looked all over. Tonight I’m doing the trap. Is there a chance she’s around my house still even though I haven’t seen her? I’m so sad about this.
