Good to know thanks for the info! Is there a better product on the market in the price range that has NSF filters? I think it does a great job improving the taste of the water. Unless we buy bottled purified water, there's no way get rid of the chemicals in the water at home.

There are different NSF certifications for different substances, look for product with NSF certifications and read its lab test reports. A reliable product not hiding anything should have NSF certifications and lab test reports. Don't just believe whatever the maker claims, words are cheap, anyone can make false claims. If a product doesn't have NSF certification then you can drop it, there's no reason a product doesn't or can't get NSF certified to support a claim. NSF certifications are the standards you can believe on. The more different NSF certs a product has the better. You want water without soluble chemcials such as chlorine, flouride, pesticide and insecticide; heavy metals such as lead, mercury and cadmium, but you want to keep certain beneficial minerals. If a water filter doesn't have at least one NSF cert then just drop it because most likely that product can't pass the NSF test.

minerals in water are not beneficial and never have been, they are inorganic and can't be processed by the human body, generally end up causing arthritis and other health issues. Get your minerals from food.

Try flush the tank? Run it continuously for a few bottles see if it is still like that. Also perhaps your tap water may have high TDS than normal.
