They have a 3mm and your review was on the 4.5mm version.. comparison of stiffness, ie: ability to push 3mm vs 4.5mm version thru long runs.. and also have metal lead vs non-conductive connection..

I bought this fishtape for all the reasons everybody raves about, but it has one BIG problem nobody seems to address. For me, the flexible leader always gets stuck trying to push this tape thru usually the last bend in a long run. When you're that far out, you can jiggle and pullback and push thru all you want, but the flex leader is crumpled up or bent in the bend and doesn't go thru. I've resorted to a my trusty steel tape for long runs because I can't get the sim tape to push thru. If anybody has a fix or trick for this - I'm all ears....I love it otherwise, much easier to operate for sure, but no much use if you can't push it thru the other side.

may have to look into one of these, gonna be pulling lots of wire and cable thru an RV this spring. looks like it would be really handy to have, #tiacrew

How does it work when all the bends are say 10ft apart... The longer lengths those fishtapes lose rigidity

Guys just wanted to let you know that these fish tapes are great, I mean when you get the original ones which are Canfor Products. This company tried to imitate, without duplicating, the exceptional performance of Canfor Products. www.canforproducts.com. You buy what you pay for, and Canfor Products super performers are priced very competitively!

definitely way to flexible. I'll stick to my greenlee. Rust on a fish tape is standard and never effected any of the pulls I've been on. also not allowed to have more than 180° in a run unless you have a pull box, so your test seems a little silly.
@tapelegs7 жыл бұрын
360 degrees is standard per all recent iterations of the NEC, maybe you are talking about a utility standard or something? Also there is nothing I am aware of in the NEC that says you can't pull straight through a pull box, I have pulled through 720 degrees for the sake of speed, using tension meter on the supertugger to make sure I am not stressing the wire, and regularly pull through more than 360 for smaller hand pulls. This product may not be super useful for whatever you do, but for a commercial remodel electrician, I would definitely give this product a shot. Looks especially useful for pulling through packed data riser conduits where steel tape would mess up fragile network wiring, and more rigid fiberglass tapes jam up in the clusterfuck of existing wires.
@coreyshenk78657 жыл бұрын
Tapelegs nope, most everything in VA and W. VA that I've ran has been 3/4" EMT and you gotta have a pull box per 180° in bends. and if I was the one bending that pvc, I wouldn't have bent them that tight. long story short, pulling through all those bends is just silly. also I've seen southwire fish tapes bust, while my 240' greenlee has handled manual pulls just fine.
@tapelegs7 жыл бұрын
Corey Shenk Wow, I never knew that. Here in washington some utillities limit you to 180 degrees going in between vaults and gear, but I had no idea there were jurisdictions that wont let you go above 180 for branch circuits. Seems like it would make piping a nightmare but you seem to get along well enough.
@jordanmike34797 жыл бұрын
Corey Shenk NEC just limits to 360° degrees of bends before pull boxes. So is your 180° a specific job specification? That's pretty unreasonable. This test does make sense because if it goes through 720° that easy it'll make normal conduit runs that much easier.
@coreyshenk78657 жыл бұрын
Jordan mike it's job specific, just like our parallel runs, all wires have to be the same length because our engineer said so. Since we do lots of medium voltage, according to nec, (480,4160, etc.) we need serious fish tapes that won't bust when you go to pull stuff through. I could see how it'd make sense for smaller pipe pull, but larger than 2" is beyond me as to why anyone would use it.

Nice tape is it made in USA 🇺🇸 and how hard is it to pull wire back with it? A lot of times when it gets difficult to pull you can grab a metal fishtape with a pair of lines man and pull. Can you do that with this tape? #KrugerFam #We❤️Tools #mondonation👤 #DamnYouJimboSlice #TIACREW #TonyVolts⚡️ #oztooltalk #ourbuild #🛠tooltoucher #glasseyi👁 #teamtoolpig #knarlycarl #rutterconstruction #DoYourBestWork #adefam✅ #TakePoint
