The claim is often made that Toonami's move to Saturday nights in 2004 was because of the violence of the shows on the block, which is funny because Toonami hadn't even aired a TV-PG-rated show since uncut Gundam Wing on the Midnight Run and wouldn't air another one until the following year (Naruto). In truth, it was because after 7 years of targeting 6-11 year olds, Cartoon Network thought that Toonami's audience was older than was ideal for its weekday audience; that's why they started the younger-skewing Miguzi and made Toonami the Saturday lead-in for Adult Swim. That's why they started airing some TV-14 movies in 2006.

Honestly, Toonami whould be moved to Adult Swim in 2004 for replacing Adult Swim Action, because a lot of the series were edited.

@@Capital480 That is an officially released track from one of Toonami's artists that used the sample, although the beat in _"What You Sittin' On"_ is different from the beat used on promos for Toonami and Adult Swim Action.

@@MinddestroyedTV Ohh interesting. I was content with that track being the one that was used.

@@Capital480 There are quite a few Toonami tracks from artists like Brian Burton that are lost in the sense that they're not on Toonami's internal music database, so we have no idea what they are, but I'm sure the Toonami staff do.

The summer/fall of '04 was the last iconic Toonami era. Yeah it wasn't as good as those 2001-2003 days when DBZ was still the hottest thing on the block but GT was still pretty decent, Megas XLR was badass, Yu Yu Hakasho was in that darker/more edgy season, ugh those were good times. I tuned out around '05 but still feel super nostalgic for this era.

It’s still such a disservice that SEED was shunted off Toonami after episode 26 due to poor ratings. It did finish its run in the early morning slot, though, if I recall.
