Great song, Ms Sushi. I got to witness some of this. My father was killed in Vietnam in 1967. I was 5 years old. My mom remarried a remarkable man and they are still together today. After I was grown, I got invited to attend a reunion of my dad’s unit from Vietnam, the 187th AHC. Over the years, I was able to attend several and get to know a bunch of the guys that flew with my dad. They were some of the kindest men I’ve ever known. And we would all drink a beer to remember my dad.

He's a phenomenal singer but he's a REAL jackass in person!! Met him in Hardeeville, SC and he was suppose to do a "Special" meet and greet with a group of handicapped audience members and he REFUSED because it was hot outside!! The awesome Craig Morgan whom over heard the booing of the crowd and did a whole audience "Meet and greet" !! Craig Morgan is above and beyond what a humble artist is!! I will ALWAYS LOVE HIM! I still like Tracy's music, but I wont pay to see him.

June , 1968. I was leaving for Vietnam. I had a cherry '57 Pontiac Star Chief, white over burgundy. I gave the keys to my best friend, Steve. I said "It's yours , dude, 'cause I ain't comin back " He laughed. Well, I did make it back, … and Steve tried to give it back to me. But I said "It's yours , dude. It's a done deal." used my discharge pay to buy a Dodge Power Wagon... been driving Pickup trucks ever since...

Music's power is its ability to tell stories and mimic emotion, I don't bash you for being a Mumble rap fan, I'm just glad to see that you're venturing out and finding music that has a moving message, it makes you feel, and that's what I love music for, as a sculptor im often jealous my medium can't move people the way music can, it's part of us on some fundamental level.

Yeah, me too!! Can't seem to hold them back. My youngest went to Afghanistan, I couldn't think about anything else for a year. He made it home, but about 2 weeks after he was home his unit was hit and they lost over half the guys my son knew. He held it in side, but that kind of guilt doesn't just go away. After about 2 years being home everything started to fly apart. He finally got help and what a difference when you can put a tragedy like that in it's proper place and not feel quilty for not being there. Anybody that thinks war is a fun thing, has never been in one. This song reminds me of that.

Quick shout out to all you new country fans... First of all, welcome to my world. I am super glad you're here!!! I was country when country wasn't cool and I a city kid to boot. If there's any questions about county music, I'm here for ya! Country music is best when you're sitting on the tailgate of a pickup truck around a campfire but when you can't do that , I advise watching the videos rather than the live performances. They are both wonderful still the videos give you a little more insight into the care of the music. I love watching your reaction videos keep doing what you're doing thank you!!!

God bless our deployed troops who won't be home for Christmas. A poem: "A Soldier's Christmas" T’was the night Before Christmas, he lived all alone, In a one bedroom house made of plaster and stone, I had come down the chimney with presents to give And to see just who in this home did live, I looked all about, a strange site did I see, No tinsel, no presents, not even a tree, No stockings by the mantle, Just boots filled with sand, On the wall hung pictures of far distance lands. With Medals and badges, Awards of all kinds, A sober thought came through my mind. For this house was different, it was dark and dreary, I had found the home of a soldier once I could see clearly I heard stories about them, I had to see more So I walked down the hall and pushed open the door. The solider lay sleeping, silent, alone, Curled up in this, His one bedroom home. The face was so gentle, the room in such disorder Not how I pictured a United States Solider. Was this the War Hero of whom I’d just read? Curled up on a poncho, the floor for a bed? His head was clean shaven, his weathered face tan, I soon understood this was more than a man. I realized the families that I saw this night Owed they’re lives to these soldiers who were willing to fight. Soon round the world the children would play And grownups celebrate a bright Christmas day. They enjoyed freedom each month of the year, Because of these soldiers like the one lying here. I couldn’t help wonder how many lay alone On a cold Christmas Eve, in a land far from home. The very thought brought a tear to my eye Dropped to my knees and started to cry. The Soldier awakened and I hear a rough voice, “Santa don’t cry, this is my life my choice: I fight for freedom, I don’t ask for more My life is my god, my country my Corps.” The Solider rolled over and soon drifted to sleep I couldn’t control it I started to weep. I kept watch for hours. So silent and still And we both shivered from the cold nights chill. I took off my jacket, the one made of red, And I covered this Soldier from his toes to his head. And I put on his T-shirt of gray and black, With an eagle and an Army patch embroidered on back. And although it barely fit me, I began to swell with pride, And for a shining moment, I was United States Army deep inside. I didn’t want to leave on that cold dark night, This guardian of honor, so willing to fight. Then the Solider rolled over with a voice soft and pure, Whispered, “Carry on Santa, Christmas Day is Secure”One look at my watch and I knew he was right Merry Christmas my friend and to all a good night. - James M. Schmidt, 1986

I was unable to join the military die to medical issues disqualify me. Instead I joined my volunteer fire company to help my country. The majority of my friends went into the service and thankfully each one made it home physically safe. The song is powerful to me because I was the one on the other end, taking care of the families, helping with the houses, yard work, keeping maintenance on the vehicles and just being there and being the as a stand in brother, son, father, whatever was needed of me. I remember going to my buddies little sisters graduation because he was deployed over seas and saw he break down crying as she got her diploma because I was the only family that was able to make it. I am now going through flight school to get my license and then will start building hours so I can participate in the angel flight program. Amazing song and artist! Just watched 3 of your posts back to back. Great job and thank you! Looking through your posts I can only add a couple of songs that others haven’t already suggested. Waylon Jennings-Revelation or Six white horses. God bless!

Driving around my ranch exactly 1 year after my husband was KIA. I admit I stopped and cried for well over an hour.

Tracy Lawrence has a lot of good ones. I love your reactions. Here is a song that won't get many recommendations because most of your viewers are younger I would assume. However if you could react to Alabama's "In Pictures" I believe you'll get an experience out of it. It is a very touching song. Hits home in many family situations across America.
