This industry is really starting to pick up the pace! With more projects than ever underway, the 3D printed construction industry is nearing a boiling point. In this video we look back through many printed homes I visited this year and a couple I didn't get the chance to but all of them bring something unique to the table. Some of these projects were even completed by course members & Automation Nation members! Check those resources out in the links below.

I'm glad to see more 3D-printed homes. I think in 10 years 3D-Printed homes will be common.

Extra cyber angel points for this beautiful summary piece. I remember explaining 3d printing buildings using a tube of toothpaste as a tool of understanding for how the computer tells the print head where to put the paste (ink / filament). That was just to help many get to the comprehension point. Old school sales training says 'people are interested in three things, themselves, themselves and you can guess what the third thing or I can save you time, themselves. Talk with folks about themselves' Top 10 3d printed from 2022 will save me hours of explanation on how far the art and science of printing has come and how quickly we can make it to the promised land where inadequate housing for anyone is an ancient concept. I can go straight to 'what's in it for them' - a fabulous, new home with much better everything. Thank you Jarett Gross, your guests over the years and crew for the powerful works you are doing. I can't wait until we print our way out of lack and greed into abundant satisfaction. JOY!

I enjoyed seeing your top picks, Jarett. I'm surprised there aren't more dome shaped, since the printers seem to prefer rounded edges as opposed to square. The benefits are less expensive heating and cooling. I also like the other composite materials resembling wood. Really gives me an idea about materials to resemble stonework. 💜

the wood like 3d printed house is interesting and I would deftly look at it again for more of a practical sense. Instead of using a resin that is specifically for recycled purposes I would see if it could become a concrete or polyester resin that can be locally found. Since the team used wood filler from a local saw mill, but then they would just need a stiff cellulose material since they are just using it as a fine aggregate. My other problem is termites, will they infuse the first 2 feet of additive material with borax or other repellent since it could be bad with the wrong mixture.

There is another aspect to 3D printed homes. The reduction in fire risk. Fire and natural disaster insurance can be reduced or Simply have no need for expensive insurance premiums. If we can get to a point where 90% is fire proof on the building materials then why have fire insurance. Houses can also be engineered to avoid Earth quake damage and flood damage! Eliminate insurance and you can invest in fire proof the structure. The next concept is put a silicone energy producing membrane on these house to reduce the need for utilities. The house becomes a living structure. The potential for reducing construction costs are significantly lowered. The market supply of living dwelling will reduce the cost of a home likewise since thousands of homes could be on the marketing place in a matter of weeks versus months or years!.

Good to see you back in action. Can you mention where exactly the projects are at? At least the area of a state. Also, how far companies r willing to span distance wise for possible projects. . OH SORRY any roof breakthroughs is GOLD. Thanks J

Great video, really exciting... If you want to do any electrical or pluming upgrades/additions, how does that work? Also, how does the concrete hold up to extreme cold, especially if any cracks or holes develop on the exterior... Thanks!

Sometimes they will stick build areas where renovation is frequent like the kitchen or leave access points. The alternative is just cutting through like cinderblock.

I think its important to evalute the situation considering particulate matter in those houses. For example the wood/plastic material. If there is somehow degradiation over time causing airborne particular matter. The same with concrete, I dont want high alkali dust in my lungs. Alkali dust is proofed to be very unhealthy when inhaled.

I have been asking them to let me stop by and film for years. They keep pushing the can down the road. If I had footage from a house they printed in 2022 I would have included them. It's always sketchy when a company is afraid to let independent journalist stop by to film.
@nobodycares2898
@nobodycares2898 Жыл бұрын
@@automateconstruction if you Google the company they have been interviewed by what seems like hundreds of independent journalist. When you go to your videos you have paid advertisers who are in the industry like 3-D printing pump companies, who work with specific companies? Sounds like you’re being quite bias for an independent journalist? JMO
@automateconstruction

@@nobodycares2898 I have no sponsors. I had one pump sponsorship last year that is over, I will not be taking sponsorships in the future. If you think I have shown bias toward the companies that pump sponsor worked with you are sadly mistaken. I treat every company I film with the same, please show an example of me being unfairly bais towards any company that pump manufacturer worked with. I was equally critical with them as I have been with every other company I visit.

@automateconstruction
@automateconstruction Жыл бұрын
@@nobodycares2898 Fair enough, I understand how you got that perception. I try really hard to cover the industry fairly with no bias. I haven't filmed an SQ4D project in over a year because they won't let me. I appreciate you bringing the perception of bias to my attention, maybe if I tell them I have no external sponsors then they will let me film with them. I will eagerly film with them any time. You know there are 102 printer manufacturers out there? My impossible goal is to cover all 102 companies equally. I will inevitably fall short of this goal but just want you to know I really am trying. Sorry for any lack of SQ4D coverage, hopefully I can remedy this in 2023.
