The commercial aviation industry has rebounded to a robust state following the COVID-19 epidemic, as seen by all ten of the world's top airlines reporting annual revenue over $10 billion in 2023. Fitch Ratings predicts a neutral outlook for the global airline sector in 2024. The credit rating agency expects demand for air travel to be "supportive" as global traffic recovers to pre-pandemic levels. However, it also acknowledges that traffic will still fall short of any historical trend lines established prior to 2020. The International Aviation Transport Association (IATA) predicts that the worldwide airline industry will make net profits of $25.7 billion in 2024. Additionally, the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) estimates that global aviation traffic in the first quarter of 2024 will exceed levels seen before the epidemic.
Presented below are the 10 largest airlines in the world, listed in order of their yearly revenue:

Cause they pay shit wages, and you have to bring your own food, no complimentary wet towels, no free alcohol, the air hostesses have only coffee, no tea, in fact the only thing they have is black coffee, they reckon they invented it. There's no free movies on board, you have to make your own entertainment. The pilot, isn't even a real pilot, as they are demanding big money, Ethiopian Airlines gets some young blokes who are good at PS2 & XBOX, and gives them some flight simulator training over a couple of weeks, tell them to look confident, and gift them some aviator sunnies.

This is a Top 10 List By' Revenue', rather than 'Profit'. So you see some private airlines, notably all American, in this list with three of them actually at the top. But if you were to make a Top 10 Airlines in Profitability List, I know for a fact that it would have none of any private carriers. That list would begin with Emerites Airlines or Singapore Airlines (not even mentioned here), and would have Luftthansa, KLM, SwissAir, British Airways, Air France, Thai Airlines, Cathay Pacific, and the most recent inclusion, Turkish Airlines. All 'Flagcarriers' of countries, rather than private enterprises run by visionary businessmen. Why? Because the Airline business, despite being very profitable, is not a steady, straightline growth business because of the volatile nature of environment it is operated in. Recent grounding of entire Airline fleets upon fleets by the hundreds during Corona outbreak, and the new rules of aviation regime accompnying it is just one of the most recent examples of this volatility. For an Airline to be among top 10, some people argue, requires first and foremost (very) long, or better still unlimited, creditlines that can be utilised to hold out in the market, even at an operating loss for some time, when a crisis caused by a Corona, a 911, a war or other unforseen calamity in your regional landscape etc forces a rules change in the market. A nation's patriotic sentiments, however idiotic they might seem to cynics, are a factor in the tickets sales too, beieve it or not. Plus it is thought to be helpful to have a sympathetic national government at your back while dealing with labour unrest, especially a Cabin Crew revolt or something. The Airline top management of a 'national' Flagcarrier are also somewhat more secure about their share price in the open market. They know for certain that in the event of a dramatic fall, a Black Monday or somerthing, the managers at the country's Central Bank or other financial institutions would pick their scrip to be the first among those that are to be saved during an 'intervention' in the fall. Many 'National Flagcarriers' have fallen by the wayside in the fiercely competetive environment of international aviation where some 5000 private and public companies compete tooth and nail. And some, like the Turkish Airlines, have staged a miraculous rise to top 10 from virtual ruins. The unfortunate Pakistan International Airline (PIA), though is not one of them. PIA is on the auction block right now, being sold with all four factions of the Pakistani state parrotting out the message that it must be sold, at the reserve price of Rupee One if you will, because ''in principle, the state should never be in business''. Their respective frontmen, one of whom would probably buy the PIA for a little more than one rupee, are, doubtless, salivating about the lucrative international routes and properties of the hapless Airline around the world.

American Airlines and United Airlines were the 2nd and 3rd largest airlines by revenue. It was because of their sheer size. Do you know that as recently as December, 2023 - about six months before this video was uploaded to KZfaq, American travelers ranked American Airlines as the No.1 least reliable airline and United Airlines as the 2nd least reliable in the U.S.?? American Airlines had 2,183 yearly flight problems recorded, 157 cases of oversold tickets, and 1,476 issues with refunds. When it comes to lost or delayed baggage, United Airlines topped the list 763 cases of lost, delayed, or damaged bags over a 12-month period. Besides reliability, average ratings by frequent travelers for American and United are disappointingly low. American: 7.2/10; United: 6.8/10. Meanwhile, China Southern Airlines - the airline at the bottom of this "top 10 largest airlines" list - has an average rating of 7.6/10 from frequent travelers. It is quality - not size - that matters the most.

Southwest is far better at customer satisfaction than any of these so-called top 3. Continental was WAY better than any of these! The CEO of Continental sold-out (graft/corruption) to that so-called merger with “Untidy United.” United was awful & still is. They’re anti-customer much the these top 3. It sure ain’t what flying used to be like in the 1970’s!

Regardless, they have Boeing or Airbus. Any other options available? All big nations must make their own aircrafts. Otherwise all the same crap different colour 😂😂😂😂

I missed where Russia is on the list? Isn’t Russia taking parts from old planes to maintain its newer ones? I did see where the US was #1 #2 and #3 though. Keep dreaming.
