Are you kidding me?? Who does your research? A poutine uses cheese curds, not cheese. Quebec never fell? 1759, the Plains of Abraham was the defeat of Quebec. Yeah Canadians fought in both world wars. They also fought in the Korean War. And what about the war of 1812? The national war memorial is a tourist attraction but Parliament Hill isn't? And Labs are retrievers, not huskies. Jesus Christ you guys...get a grip.

Us Canadians have never lost a war and rarely get attacked. You guys completely looked over the fact that we burnt all the American stuff last time were attacked on our home soil by a full country. White House: burned that down, various military forts: burned them down too.

Just to add to how much we love hockey, whenever there's a big hockey game going on, at school the teachers pull us out of class to watch a game live in an assembly
@lilpwnige
@lilpwnige 8 жыл бұрын
It varies, depending on the specific game. It's widely spread across the country during the Winter Olympics when Team Canada is competing for Gold or Bronze game in both Men's and Women's hockey. It also happens rarely when an NHL Playoff game is scheduled during school hours, and only when that game has the local team competing in it or is a deciding game for the Stanley Cup. It's also worth noting that it's not compulsory for schools to do this. It very much boils down to the specific school and who's in charge of it (and how much they like hockey). However most schools have decided its a good idea because it reduces the chance of students skipping a full day of classes to stay home and watch the game.

Today is Canada Day. In my town, we had a Canada Day Parade where locals wear red and white and walk the streets. Lots of young children took part in this parade. Now on one corner, a group of people were burning a Canadian flag as a warning. Just the respect we get for helping them and giving them places to live!

My stepmum works at the castle and she said they emigrated generations ago and wouldnt leave and had babies so now we have Welsh Canadian geese haha

Fun fact : The term "province" comes from the latin expression "pro victis", "for the vanquished", because provinces are usually the former territories of defeated former-enemy nations/states/countries. For example, the provinces of the Roman Empire were the kingdoms, republics, confederations and city-states that it had conquered.
