@@Dino2GunZ not everybody reads the books and they don’t have to. he was a third tier character in the show. Rob, Ned, even Catlyne got much more screen time than Jon. It wasn’t until season 4 that Jon really began to be the protagonist we know and love

Jon was the archetypal King in literature. Problem you ran into was during season 6. His death and resurrection lacked a proper price. In that universe you lose a part of yourself when brought back. If you ask me and wanted to use that, trust no one and ruthlessness needed to start coming up. As for the rest they wanted shock value, which they failed at. As it needed to make sense, their choices writing wise did not make sense. It was downright terrible.

@@jakobfountain5635 Arthur was dead by the time of the story, as was Brandon. We don't know if Brienne could have actually defeated Jon in a fight as all her fighting wasn't truly fair. Jaime was weakened and her fight with Sandor was rocky terrain that could have gone either way. Arya's teacher doesn't really count as he wasn't from Westeros and Arya actually shouldn't have been that good as she wasn't actually taught enough sword fighting. They made her so dangerous when really she didn't really have the training to be that. In truth, she should have never been able to defeat Brienne, nor did she actually have the full training of a faceless man to be as stealthy as she was. As for Jaime, we will never know if Jon would have one day been able to beat him as by the time they met again Jaime only had one hand and the hand he lost was his fighting one. Most of the people you named were either dead by the time Jon could lift a sword, someone he never fought against or people that were made better than they should have realistically been. Remember, seasons 6,7, and 8 were really just terrible fanfiction for D & D that centered on the 3 Starks.

But it turns out that Ramsey did what he did to save the lives of 100,000 orphans 5000 nuns, 600 dogs, and 25 babies. 😀

I didn’t have a problem with Arya killing the NK, but they could’ve still had Jon and him/it having a grueling, drag out final fight. Jon is handily beaten and right before the NK strikes the final blow, boom, Arya does her thing but Jon and her BOTH strike the final blow at the same time

Yep. Jon ignored Sansa because Sansa gave absolutely no real advice, even when he straight up asked her. She didn't mention the Knights or how not go fall into Ramsay's trap. If anything, Jon should have been able to beat Ramsay as he had battle experience that, let's face, Ramsay didn't actually have. Being insane and sneaky doesn't mean you know how to fight or lead a battle. Also, the Umbers joining Ramsay didn't make sense as the family is completely loyal to the Starks and they had Rickon, whom was a young boy. Why would they had him over to Ramsay and the wildling thing was stupid as Smalljon would have known that most that Jon brought were women, children and elderly and not really that many men that would be a real threat. Not to mention that they wouldn't have taken their army down to Winterfell as that would have left most of their lands open to the wildlings. Not when Jon was still at Castle Black and the Wildlings still in the Gift. I think it was all just to get Sansa in place to rule one day since she couldn't with Rickon alive and to counter the backlash from season 5 where she was raped. She wasn't really smart and would have fallen for Littlefinger's game against Arya if not for Bran, which was a deleted scene that Dumb and Dumber didn't put in because it would ruin their fanfiction about her being smarter than she actually was.

@@jedimasters1462 I agree. They killed rickon to make her queen which is just pathetic. With 13 seasons rickon could have became more of a main character. I would have liked to see him come out on top. The kid has seen alot, been through alot. I would have liked to see him determined to get his home back and kill everyone who dared to steal it again. It would have been amazing to see rickon go from the playful youngest little brother to a hardened young man who was not gonna take shit even from his siblings especially Sansa. Rickon had a lot of promise. What a wasted character. 😪

Ollie put the final dagger into Jon snows heart and killed him. So that was less about bravery and more about rules.

You have to remember Jon is at the wall and in the far north. Northerners had , southerners hadn't, eventually I think people would've heard about him eventually. I thought Jamie lannister was the best. I always thought Jon swung his sword like a bat , though he did parry well, my girl Arya could've taught him a thing or two. He fights too honorable, tanner almost killed him, almost. I'll say I was happy he survived, unhappy he was sent back to the wall.

Nah it was exactly how it should be be since Danny was already a rider. Jon earned the right to ride a dragon through all his battles and tribulations. It doesn’t need to be a battle to ride it. By what GRRM said, Jon should have actually been darker when he returned as you can't be touched by death like that and be lighter. Although, after watching House of the Dragon episode 3, you can see now the Targaryen side of Jon and that he is indeed Daemon's descendant. I wish Ramsay got the same fate as the Crabfeeder with Jon killing him.

Eh I heard there may be ice dragons beyond the wall and I personally hope he gets his own ice dragon. Drogon was Dany's baby and clearly her favorite. As much as I didn't like her, Jon killed drogon's mom. I hope they don't backtrack too much in the Snow show. We need fresher ideas.

All that happened was they made him a massive simp. I did notice that Beric was cold towards others after being risen so many times. He just sold gendry and was like "meh" but I thought perhaps that's just how the brotherhood is. Either way making Jon less honorable for example would have been a significant change after being risen. Less inclined to be honest or something and a bit harder to trust others. But the writers likely would have taken it to an extreme and made him emotionless like bran which is just boring.

Jon does have the most combat experience. I mean the guy was constantly in battle throughout the whole series.

The White Walker was because it was more interested in Baby Sam and the Thenn was because of a lucky shot. Jon actually fought both as the main target and won.

Sansa was not going to kneel to Daenerys, she told Jon and even told Daenerys, so Jon knew in order to save his sister he had to kill Daenerys!

They basically dumbed him down and a whiped dog to make Sansa smarter, Arya a better fighter and Bran the king. Even GRR quit the show because of how they were screwing up.

Not to me. She deserved it imo and she should have burned tyrion rather than throw him in a sell. Just like she did to varys. It made no sense to keep tyrion alive. Had she got rid of him maybe she would have lived. Tyrion constantly gave her bad advice and I think he did it on purpose to protect his family. Once a lannister always a lannister. Jon grew up with Sansa. He did not grow up with Dany. He hardly knew her but what he did see of her was that she was a monster who burned millions and she didn't respect the northerners because they didn't grovel at her feet like the slaves across the sea did. He knew she was a threat to not only his family but to everyone and she would never let the north be independent which they all wanted after so many years. Personally, being righteous is overrated anyway.

Agreed the most important thing he did plot wise that worn everybody about white walkers and legally any other character could have done that. He never really had a big moment it seems like they were just using instead of him having any control.

Not to discredits both of yous' perspectives, but he was the first to go toe to toe with the night kings right hand Soilder and killing him, creating distance so that the wildlings could evade and escape to the wall with the knights watch. Also he was the only one willing to stop dynaryes which yeah it was too late by then cause she murder an entire city but he had no idea she would do that. She displayed a different persona before that but alreast he stopped her from ever becoming a tyrant especially with the dragon at her side. She got lustful with ego and finally he's also the piece that connects Roberts rebellion. He's the reason why Robert went to kill the Targaryens, because Robert was too over head and hells for lyanna. So had it not been for that to begin with, there wouldve never even been a reballion hitting that game for the throne would've never even happened. I agree about the battle of the bastards but Sansa literally didn't tell him anything about a supporting army. She just said to not fight Bolton on his level was all. So how was Jon suppose to know, and if Sansa wanted to kill Bolton she could've done that in his sleep, they literally were married, instead she fled and put many in danger so that she could race to the knights watch to find jon who she hated growing up for no reason other than her mom didn't like him based on her husbands honor for his sister. If you want to talk about pointless that'd be bran. Became the three eyed raven basically to prove Jon's the true aire to the iron throne by blood which if we are being honest, Jon's moral character made him a king in itself. Blood just connected it all together but everyone would've chosen Jon as a king like they did in winter fell. He's a just and fair leader. Never asking or doing anything he wouldn't do himself. He set a standard and the example for all to emulate. Lastly, Jon was the only one willing to sacrifice himself to go before the wildlings and beat them in the knights guard which is literally his duty. It showed how he was a phenomenal leader in that time stepping into the shoes as Lord commander and holding back the wildlings even with being outnumbered.
