HK is a freaking riot of a cooking competition show. So many memorable quotes: "Where's the lamb sauce?!" "IT'S RAW!" "You're not a quitter? Hey, you're a f***ing cook, either." "Take your jacket off and F*** OFF!"

One of the cutest behind the scene secrets I heard is that for some of the cooking shows, like 30 minute meals, they couldn't show brand name products, so the Food Network, or someone in the production company had a guy who would make graphics for the containers, boxes, and wrappers. And this is more a reality TV fun fact, but for Hell's Kitchen in order for contestants to actually cry and not be recorded, they'd start singing a Beatles song. I also know for season 7, the grand prize, which was a job at Gordon Ramsay's Savoy Grill in London, was actually revoked. The producers didn't know this, or possibly since the law was recently enacted, they couldn't offer any prize that involved employment in a foreign country or something. It sucked because the winner, Holli, and her kid were so excited. Especially because she was on one of the weakest teams who would lose at challenges and services, and be subject to humiliating punishments (they even made them dress up in farmer's outfits for one of them), and to go through all that, win, and have it taken away must suck. She was given a cast prize at least. In general, the jobs they announce at the grand prize for each season, especially the earlier ones, were usually a lesser-ranking job. Season 6's Dave, who is one of the best and most loved winners ever, was promised a high-ranking job at the Araxi Grill during the 2010 Winter Olympics. Instead it was a line cook position. And the grand prize can be revoked: Season 11's Ja'Nel lost her prize because she failed a drug test. And some chefs will reject the prize job in favor of cash. Season 18's Ariel was already overseeing several restaurants at the time which relied on her, so she went with the cash prize instead.
