Really enjoyed this video. I just got my first 4k television which is a Sony 77" A80J OLED. Also upgraded my receiver to a Marantz SR8015. Traveling on vacation and will have a 4k Bluray player when I get back. I also have a copy of Godzilla vs Kong. Can't wait to watch it.

Thanks Adam for another great 4k update, you are right Dirty Dancing does sound amazing the Ten Commandments looks absolutely amazing and my personal pick for best picture quality where the colors are absolutely popping is My Fair Lady. I'll have to pick up a couple of the other ones you mentioned to check them out, thanks again.

Great list! My Fair Lady is at the top of my list due to its 70mm super-Panavision source, and Ten Commandments was close. The Indy set was also great and Speed, Godzilla 2014 and Final Fantasy Kingsglaive was also impressive for its HDR. I didn't get Godzilla vs Kong on disk as I couldn't bear to watch the nonsense more than once :)

I’m greatly in agreement with you on all title except for DIRTY DANCING since I haven’t been able to get it yet. Your assessment of it makes me even more interested in getting it. I have most of the other titles. I too wish that LOVE AND MONSTERS had an Atmos or X soundtrack.

Hello Adam! Could you tell me what motion smoothing setting you use on your LG? Do you have judder reduction enables? Thinking of getting an oled, bit worried about "stutter effect" with 24hz content. Has this ever been an issue with you?

@@MovieGuy365 Some people say it's a weird mishmosh of titles but I'm actually more excited for vol.2 than I was for 1. Seems a little more balanced this time. I thought Lawrence dominated vol.1 it was just so good.

I don't have a receiver because I live in a condo, the noise will be intense, so I ended up getting an atmos sound bar instead. I'm impressed with my LG soundbar alongside my Hisense u8G with the Sony 800MX2. I'm not a professional calibrator, but I got everything just right. I recently purchased Scott Pilgrim and Nobody(2021)

The Dirty Dancing Steelbook is all the way at the top of my most-wanted European release. It's such a fantastic looking Steelbook. I'd love to add it to my collection, but it's impossible to find it anywhere. Unless you're willing to pay more than 60 Dollar for the Steelbook, shipping plus import tax for a Steelbook that costs only 20 Dollar at Best Buy. Ever since it was released back in April I've been trying to find a reasonably priced copy. I'm still hoping one day this exact same Steelbook will see a European release. On the other hand, I've received my copy of the Basic Instinct 4k Steelbook only yesterday. That's a release you can't get in the US. It's really annoying when movies are released only in one certain region and you're unable to import it.

Can't argue. I may have put My Fair Lady ahead of Jones though. That picture quality is just stunning. You probably haven't had the chance or don't have the Studio Canal release of Basic Instinct. That looked absolutely amazing on my OLED. The picture quality rewarded me for the steep price of my pre-order.

@@richardgatty5788 Well of course! I would be breaking some sort of law if I didn't. But in all seriousness they did a great job. When they first go to interview Catherine at her beach house as she is sitting overlooking the ocean, it took my breath away how good that scenery looked.

As far as these lists go, I’m only getting movies I like. No point in getting a movie I don’t like no matter how great it looks on 4K. Plenty of great movies available that look great on 4K. Still some good 4Ks on this list I don’t have. Wasn’t a huge fan of the movies “Monster Hunter” and “Chaos Walking” so won’t be picking those up. Picked up “The Ten Commandments” still sealed from a pawn shop on 4K for $5 last week. Waiting for my “Indina Jones” collection and “Last Action Hero” on 4K to arrive from Deep Discount. Waiting on a price drop for “Godzilla vs King Kong”. Will pick up the second “Quiet Place” film when that releases. Of course, on sale.

I guessed it that Godzilla vs kong would be #1 and i was right. It was shot 4K digitally throughout the film!

Only 7 of these are available on 4k in the UK. We always get a bad deal on 4ks released here compared to the USA

News of the World is an underrated 4K for 2021, I haven't seen many people put that on their lists

What do you think about Sony PS5 as a 4K player? By the way, I don't care much about the audio as I don't have a home theater receiver but just a Samsung sound bar + sub. In the end, I only care about the picture quality with a real true best quality transfer to 4K blu ray disc. Thank you for your videos.

If you don’t care about Dolby Vision, the PS5 is an ok 4K player. I’ve compared it to the Xbox Series X 4K player capability, I think the PS5 is better in that regard. A stand-alone player is still my preferred choice, but the PS5 is capable enough.

There is still time left in the year, but they missed the anniversary of Twister. Even if the picture probably wouldn't pop, an Atmos mix would be welcome to many. I think people are used to the fact that CGI from back then looks horrible, and we all simply don't care if a 4k release makes it stand out more. We saw such things in the theater back then, as digital cinema wasn't a thing then, and we weren't bothered by it then. Hopefully next year they consider Home Alone 2 for an anniversary release. They did a GREAT job with Home Alone.

My no 1 wouldn't actually be 4k, it would be a blu ray box set(albeit a 4k restoration) : the world of Wong Kar Wai. The only thing that world beat it world be an actual 4k release of his movies.

I am very disappointed by the 4k Blu-Ray of Dirty Dancing here in Germany... no Atmos at all... -.- like most of the movies and the picture quality was very bad compared to other 4ks from that era
