M2 comp or atleast e92 M3 SHOULD have been included Mat!! V8 M3 reving to 8000rpm which was biblically fast on track and still relatively reliable is defo good Mcar... M2 comp is well loved by many big names in car industry...

@@2702simmo I had also an E46 M3 and when I bought the E92, it was another world. The E46 was dull, the engine felt restricted. Every day of the week E92 instead of E46.

So pleased to see the E24 M6 coming second. I’ve owned mine since 1993 and I’ll never sell it. Best looking BMW in my opinion.

My love of cars stems from My old mans 635csi M, while I was growing up. He loved that car so much he used it as a daily driver and drove it hard. But without fail it'd get maintained and cleaned on Saturdays And in the 15 odd years he owned it the most expensive problem was a snapped prop shaft. The car was then donated to Beaulieu Motor Home when he died in 1999. A car that has made a lasting impression on me and my family and still the only car that has made me hide under the dash through fear lol. Mind you my mates lancia delta hf turbo came close. A true motoring idol

My elderly mother just sold her 1987 version of the same car that she and dad bought new. I wish I had the dollars to keep it. It was a weapon.

its not the only V8 M3. there was an E46 called the M3 GT-R with a 444hp V8 that competed in the 2001 LeMans race

Ironically the V8 disqualifies it. Legendary engine, but not fit for an agile ballerina. M2 off to a bad start with the numb steering, turbos,bit heavy

@@alstound RS2 Avant, TT RS Manual, RS4 B8 Avant, RS6 C8 Avant, RS7 Sportback, RS5 Manual, RS3 Sportback, RS4 B7, RS4 B5, RS6 C6 Avant there's already 10 cars in RS. Audi just doesn't receive much love compared to Mercedes and BMW :(

@@pramay5116 I actually think the pre-LCI was an utterly beautiful and classy car, but yes, it did look a bit too similar to the G30 5 Series. LCI certainly looks like a flagship BMW limousine, but its looks are without doubt very divisive(I actually quite like it).

@@marcellukacic5221 Yeah, I think its acceptable on a flagship car, but it looks like they're putting a massive grille on the new 4 series and that just looks ridiculous. The 3 and 4 is where they make the most money, and its too big a risk to take on a more mainstream car.

I made my own top ten list and placed it at number 2. It is absolutely the best M car ever, overall. But I could not quite put the E46 behind it lol, that E46 is legendary, so I put E46 as number 1 and the M5 as number 2. The M5 won the world performance car of the year I think in 2018, thats how great it is

Hi Mat . Another good review.Thank you . I took my girlfriend to the hospital .I was driving her car , we parked in the underground car park all the lights in the car park where off.When we got back to the car the lights were still not on in the car park and parking was very tight cars close together , luckily her BMW has reverse assist .What a great device and it was the first time that i drove her car .BMW thank you.

e92 m3 little bit quicker than previously 5 generation - e39 m5. And its 9 years deifference. Why so love it? C63 was way better

I had an E34 M5 in the mid '90s. Although the 0-60mph time wasn't amazing, the 80-150mph performance was epic. Did many trips up and down the Autobahn network. #Memories

I’ve had one for 3 years it’s fantastic and very reliable, once the the throttle actuators have been sorted ( around £620) it’s fine ... I’ve had no problems at all after sorting these throttle actuators with upgraded circuit boards .. but if your going to keep the car for good as I am it’s definitely worth having the rod bearings done and at the same time also upgrade the vanos oil feed pipe and engine mounts as it’s stripped down ( £2000 quote ) which isn’t that bad for the up rated APL bearings and bolts , if your lucky enough to find a car with this work done with receipts it’s worth snapping it up because once you start driving these V10’s it’s addictive plus the sounds with an active exhaust is sublime.... I highly recommend ( I’ve driven the newer models and could even trade mine in for the f10 or the F90 but I would still keep this one there that good , yes I know the newer cars are quicker but the E60 feels like a proper M series unless you’ve driven one or owned one it’s hard to explain. 😎👍🇬🇧

E90/E92 M3 was my childhood dream car while the M2 comp is the car I own today. I think the M2 comp is the modern day E46 M3. Wish I could drive an E46 M3 someday in my life.

There was an M8 that was built, and it had exactly the same engine as the McLaren f1, but they only built one and it is on the BMW museum in Germany.

The E39 M5 is and always will be greatest looking and fully functional sleeper. 20 years on and it's performance still parallels cars of the current era.

For me the best m car ever made is the f82 m4, even though I own the f83. My m4 sounds brutal with the m performance exhaust. I was driving a few m cars and have to say: 1. M4 2. M3 e92 3. M5 F90

I absolutely loved my M3 CSL for 7 blissful years of ownership 😍 and while its SMG gearbox seems to attract criticism, most of it is unfair and shortsighted . Yes, it takes a little while to get use to SMG but it’s worth it. There are 6 different SMG shift patter settings available to choose from . S1 is super soft and smooth gear changes for when you’re stuck in heavy traffic and at the opposite end you have S6 (which turns TC off completely) 😵 for when you’re in full track attack mode, allowing super fast (and quite brutal) gear changes of just 80 milliseconds 😎🤘🏼 And it’s on track where you realize just how brilliant and perfectly suited this overtly criticized SMG set up is 👍🏼 Sadly majority of SMG critics don’t get a chance to experience the mighty M3 CSL anywhere near the track and ultimately miss the point of its original objective. E46 M3 CSL was developed and extensively tested at the Nurburgring as a Track Car so its on road credential are somewhat compromise however on track it’s a visceral tour the force and an absolute joy 🤘🏼

Great review. I have a bmw e60 M5. Also with the limiter removed, it will do 190mph, however there are 2 limiters. Remove the second one and it will do 206mph :) . Thanks!!

I think a overlooked car is the E63 M6! Weighs the same as a E92 M3 but has the V10, but maybe I am biased 🤔

I would love to see a drag race format video with all different classes of cars. i think it will really show the difference in classes - A super exotic, average supercar, autobahn monster, electric, hot hatch, city/family car. I think it would be really interesting.

Actually M5 e60 SMG is a 7 speed gearbox. Back then, this transmission was pretty fast. There wasnt any other option which can handle 507hp and such high rpm. I know its not the most reliable car, but it was so ahead of its time, even today it is still impressive. And thats true to the entire e60 series, its still looks and feels modern. Its ages like a good wine. Funfact: the second version of the s85 V10 was ready for the f10 M5, but thanks to EU emission bla bla, it got replaced with the 4,4 V8 twinturbo. Its really sad it couldnt make it, maybe that could have been more realiable and with the f10 M5 DCT(dual clutch) it would have been a dream.

M2 is missing...it’s the best M nowadays. Also the M5 F90. It is incredible fast and feels faster in the acceleration than the M8. Also it’s a family saloon and still handles to achieve this numbers.

Although not a full blown M car, the f22 M240i is seriously a delightful little car. Nimble chassis with the right dimensions and awesome zf 8 speed mated to the b58 powerhouse thats high cr, closed deck, forged cranks & rods. This is a special car.
