Goblin Recruiter should definitely have been #1. There's a reason it's banned in legacy, from making Snoop way too consistent nowadays in (cEDH), to setting up Ringleader + Food Chain loops or Charbelcher combos back in the day.

I feel like there are plenty of Goblins that deserved mention: Goblin Recruiter (banned in Legacy), Goblin Chainwhirler, Goblin Piledriver, Krenko, Mob Boss...

Re: Goblin Rabblemaster Another reason it fits so well in mono-red prison is its mana cost. The deck may be called "mono-red", but it runs full playsets of both Ancient Tomb and City of Traitors - lands that make two colorless mana - to get the lock pieces out faster, and red mana can be a bit scarce. With its cost of 2R, you can play Rabblemaster using just one of those colorless lands + a single red source - meaning that not only is it easy to cast, it can also come out on turn 2, or even turn 1 with the help of Simian Spirit Guide. And costing 3 mana is the perfect spot, as the deck uses Trinisphere which makes all cards cost at least 3 mana anyway.

This list does not include Muxus's best friend in Commander format: Goblin Recruiter. Goblin Recruiter lets you stack the top of your deck with any amount of goblins you want. This is insanely powerful when you top-deck Muxus, slam him down, then spit the best six goblins in your deck to the field, then draw the next four cards because Goblin Ringleader was one of the six.

Kiki Jiki was originally from the Kamigawa sets. Recently, there was a new Kamigawa set, which made a lot of references to popular or important figures from the original sets. Kiki Jiki was no exception to this. Fable of the Mirror Breaker is a saga that, on its final chapter transforms into Reflection of Kiki Jiki, which is an attempt at a more balanced version of the card. Notably, no haste on the reflection, and it now costs 1 mana in addition to tapping the reflection to make a copy of a creation. Even with these restrictions, the card has been an absolute powerhouse seeing play in several formats. The card is helped out by a lower mana cost, creating a good creature to copy, and giving some card selection before transforming, but the ability itself is just very strong. Being able to retrigger enters the battlefield abilities every turn, or creating a blocker that can trade without actually putting you down a creature, or being able to just throw creatures into combat without consequence are all powerful options that quickly swing a game in your favor. It's honestly become one of my favorite cards, because in making Kiki weaker, it's shown how powerful he really is. Even discounting any combos and trying to use Kiki Jiki as a "fair" card, he still runs away with games if not answered immediately. Also a note about the Snoop Kiki combo, it actually gets more efficient than that. There's a card called Boggart Harbinger, which is like Goblin Matron, but it puts the goblin found on top of your deck, instead of to hand. Normally, that would be worse, but with Snoop, that can put Kiki on top, and then once you've made enough Snoops, instead copy the Boggart Harbinger to put Sling Gang Lieutenant on top of your deck, allowing the Snoops to sack your board. So it's basically a two card combo with Conspicuous Snoop and Boggart Harbinger, so long as you have at least one Kiki and one Lieutenant in left in your deck. I'd also like to mention Mogg War Marshal. There's a certain archetype of decks known as Aristocrats, where the decks goal is to kill its own creatures to profit from dies triggers. Cards like Blood Artist, which makes it so whenever a creature dies you gain 1 life and your opponent loses 1 life are the backbone of the deck. Goblins themselves frequently find their way into Aristocrat decks, with cards like the aforementioned Skirk Prospector, which lets you turn goblins into mana. Where Mogg War Marshal comes in being one of, if not the most efficient fodder cards in the game. Anything else that competes with it in terms of mana efficiency or number of bodies made are more expensive, and frequently not creatures themselves, making them harder to find in a creature based deck. Mogg War Marshal is a 2 mana 1/1 that makes a 1/1 goblin when it enters or leaves, and then has echo, requiring you to pay another 2 mana the turn after you played it or sacrifice it. Essentially, if your plan is to immediately sacrifice these creatures, then it's 3 bodies for 2 mana. With Sling Gang Lieutenant, it drains for 3, or with Skirk Prospector it creates 3 mana. The real power though, is cards that just care about them dying, rather than specifically needing to sacrifice them, as you can double, or even triple up on effects. With multiple Blood Artist effects (of which there are many), this card can be 12 or even 18 point life swing. On top of that, the modes of playing it early and not paying the echo to get 2 1/1s out of it, or playing it into a board wipe to leave behind a 1/1 from the dies trigger are solid too. This flexibility makes it a staple in any Aristocrats deck its legal in.

Goblin recruiter is also a freaking strong gobbo, just to stack your libary for snoop, kiki and sling gang lieutnant. But also for the charbelcher combo. Also for muxxus to cheat out just the right goblins

You know they're good when you run 6, 5, 4, and 2 in decks that aren't even goblin tribal. I think an honorable mention could go to Goblin Recruiter, who stacks the top of your deck with goblins. This can line up things for Muxus or the snoop, potentially stacking the snoop/Kiki-Jiki combo among other things.

Can't believe you left out Goblin attack force, he is iconic.

Regarding Munitions Expert, let's not forget that there's a card called Empty the Warrens, which can repeatedly make as many Goblin tokens with Storm. Immediately, Munitions Expert has a way to gain maximum damage.

Having started playing magic in 2019, this is the only #1 card on your lists I actually thought about.

The same way u gave the Engineer an honorable mention, I would've added a few more when u talked about Rabblemaster, Matron, n Lackey cuz all 3 have powerful knock offs that have seen play. That's kinda the best part of goblins; redundancy

Used to have a strong Goblin aggro "back in the day" with Gratuitous Violence (Red enchantment that doubled all damage from everything, multiple copies could stack).

The card reveal from Goblin Guide is actually an upside as you get to find out what card your opponent draws, which most of the time tells you what deck they're playing so you know the play pattern around it.

Thanks for addressing and explaining on why you don't include Commander with your lists. Some people would have pointed out that it would be warranted for inclusion with these as it's officially supported by Wizards of the Coast and there's a ban list for Commander, despite being a casual format.

I find the lack of goblin bushwacker disturbing but overall a good list

Earwig Squad is extremely underrated and works really well in combination with Frogtosser Banneret; coming out as early as turn 2 and being able to look through your opponent's deck and potentially remove anything that might prevent you from winning.

As an almost solely Commander player i appriciate the mentions

I have a pirate commander with admiral Beckett brass where the dockside extortionist would be a really good addition.

I love me some Goblin Welder, it's one of my best cards in my Daretti Commander deck, it's so damn good.

i'm surprise gutter snipe wasn't mentioned. definitely an older card, but i remember it being a staple in burn, turning every sorcery or instant you cast into extra damage, plus it stacked for each snipe on the field, all for like 2 and 1R.

Cratermaker being able to destroy big Eldrazi creatures is an amazing mental image I can't get out of my head. Like imagine going all the way to bring out an Emrakul only for a tiny Goblin to pop it for 1 mana

Been a while since I played a Goblin Deck but at the time there was a banned or limited idk wich. It was an enchantment it was either 1 red mana or 1 red 1 colorless. It gave goblins i believe +1/0 after 5 goblins enter the battlefield. I can't remember sadly but it was busted for sure.

Also may wanna mention that goblin guide's reveal ability is an upside if not a land since it's free information. Would be significantly worse if it said "opponent looks at top card, if it's a land they may reveal it and put it into their hand"

I haven't seen goblin tribal in a while, but back when I played this game much more frequently, goblin piledriver was one of the scariest things they had access to. Now it doesn't even make the top 10 of this list. Granted, that was a long time ago, but still, it's crazy to see how much the game has changed.

Lakey into Muxus would be a pretty brutal turn 2. Hot damn Turn 1 - Lackey Turn 2 - Swing, play Muxus, Muxus finds Krenko + 1 other goblin Turn 3 - swing and Krenko is generating 4 goblins, at least, and you still have mana open this turn cos it's a new turn

well... when u do Goblins, you should also do an Elves video, as they are 2 of the 3 oldest Tribes in the game (Elves, Goblins, Merfolk)

Dockside is also legal in legacy and vintage where artifacts run rampanat

Warren Instigator is a great choice as double strike can put two gobbos in play.

You should take commander into consideration more, wotc basically only makes cards for that format as it is the largest format.

Reminder that just looking at base power/toughness without boosts or anything, the most powerful Goblin is a 7/7, Changeling Titan.

I don't disagree with the list at all, just want to go ahead and mention some great goblins that weren't mentioned. I'll also give brief mentions as to why they're great for any less experienced players that read this. First, the "Goblin Buffers", all the Goblins that make your tribe stronger: Chieftain (+1/+1 and haste), Mad Auntie (+1/+1 and can regenerate a goblin), Trashmaster (+1/+1 and can destroy artifacts), the Goblin King (+1/+1 and mountainwalk) Then the ones that make them cheaper: Goblin Warchief (and gives haste) and Frogtosser Banneret Goblin Recruiter lets you stack your deck with whatever goblins you want, as many as you want, basically knowing what your next X cards you'll draw... setting up for HUGE Muxus plays, or even without Muxus knowing the precise order of your deck is silly. Warren Instigator is like Goblin Lackey, but has double strike so it can do it twice in 1 turn! Krenko, Mob Boss poops out so many tokens you literally double your goblins each time he taps Grenzo, Dungeon Warden can just pull creatures (not just Goblins, but ANY creatures) from the deck right onto the battlefield Goblin Piledriver has protection from blue and buffs itself for each Goblin attacking with it (not a big deal now, but it used to be a game winner)

Quick question: If Goblin Lackey dealt combat damage to a player, could i put out Morophon, the Boundless, due to the fact that they have Changeling?

Ok tbh there are alot you missed Warren instigator: it's goblin lackey with doublestrike so cheat 2 goblins Legion loyalist: give all attacking creatures u control first strike trample and they can't block with tokens is absolutely amazing Relic robber : giving them a creature that can't block and does damage to them Grenzo havoc raiser : basically gives all goblins the robber of the rich ability Brash taunter: kill them with fight And both krenkos are the best hands down .

If your playing commander get a haste creature for the snoop combo use krenko to make 1/1s with haste

I think ankleshanker is a pretty strong card that makes all of your goblins a legitimate threat, not a game ender but makes defending a hard choice if the game gets dragged out

dude goblin SHARPSHOOTER was oine of the original kiki jiki (untap) combos you left out so many goblins from onslaught and older ! theres even a card that is called magmaw that is like a hellion that is like a tuned down version of that "kill your opponent 1 damage at a time "

While its not a "pure" goblin, fable of the mirror breaker is really really good. Its currently the most played card in standard, and one of the most played cards in pioneer historic and explorer. It is good in control, aggro, and midrange, and specific strategies within those archetypes. It does a lot for little investment It ramps with treasures making it good for midrange, artifact, and go wide decks; it filters cards making it good for gy decks and decks running specific answers; and it makes copies on the backside making it good in go big decks and midrange decks

I'm a normal purphoros goblins commander player. Goblin recruiter, lackey, and muxus are all houses for me.

Goblin Lackey should have probably been on 1. Muxus etb is strong, but the only reason he is scary in Legacy is because you can cheat him out. Goblin Lackey in general is probably the only reason Legacy Goblins is a scary deck.

It’s hard to put into words how stupidly amazing dockside is in cedh. It’s probably the best card in the format and is an auto include in LITERALLY every red deck

I think Goblin Mad and Goblin Chainwhirler should've been on this list for the sheer combo potential.

This is the first time I have to object to this list. There are minor things like Legion Warboss being more useful than Goblin Rabblemaster and opinions like Goblin Sharpshooter, Krenko Mob Boss, Skirk Prospector, etc should've made the list. The two big issues are at 10 and one however. There are too many goblins to give a spot to Dockside Extortionest. With there being so many goblins who didn't make the cut it's difficult to justify it. The other problem isn't with Muxus Goblin Grandee since that is the easiest #2 goblin. The problem is that the best goblin is easily Goblin Recruiter. The card has been banned since time umemorable and has since then gotten significantly better with the release of snoop and muxus. It's just too powerful for it to not be number 1.

Might want to put a warning on #6 for the background.
