Name Name Name Name Name Name so true.. i love the sims 3 and i’ve played hours and hours (unfortunately uz the sims community has always been a buggy mess it didn’t register my hours correctly) though mods are defenitely fun to play around with.. for more unrealistic mods that is actually activatable and fine if it’s in the game regardless would be the vector mod.. if you have supernatural it can create a zombie apocalypse and you can actually do a cool apocalypse challenge without having to pretend townies are zombies because now they will be actual biting danger zombies that can turn your sims

Oh totally. I only added mods because of realism, but I could still spend hours on it without them. I remember playing it for the first time (and the sims 4 was my first game) and I thought, wow, I can already do so much and that was base game only. Now, I'm currently playing a legacy family, three generations on. I love it so much.

mods expand on sims 3, but arent necessary at all sims 4 on the other hand NEEDS mods to even have some sort of gameplay

Nraas is pretty necessary to even get the game working, you really don't want to have the sims in the worlds constantly buying cars until the entire world is bloated and it becomes stuttery.

@@velasericousland2443 Played Sims 3 since it came out but only a couple of years ago that I started to explore games mods(when I understand English a bit more and the mod page feels a little less intimidating. lol). It helps but far from 'necessary'. My game working just fine without it. It works better, don't get me wrong. But 'necessary to even get the game working' isn't true.

@@anodyne4670 you are an exception. most people have a very difficult time running the sims 3 on even nice modern pcs. even worse is the corruption/lag when it comes to modless legacies.

In my sims 3 games, the mother dyed her hair pink and she had twins. The twins had pink hair in toddlerhood...I HATE IT

I HATE that too!! Dyed hair should NOT be genetic! That's why I rarely use unnatural colors in Sims 3.

Well, at least you can change the colors of it. And I'm happy that children can also have unnatural colors, like pink, purple, white, etc. *cough* Sims 4 doesn't let this so it sucks even more *cough*

Sims 2 actually was better in this area - the game remembered sim's natural hair color and even face features. So no hair dyes or plastic surgeries could affect their children

Yeah, I have 350$/month after rent, from my countrys welfare (and busticket, medicines, internet, glasses, is on them too), so, without working. I would not feel motivated to start working if that was the pay offered here 😐

A must-have for me is the no full moon lighting effect by pokeytax. I normally like playing with supernatural but that lighting effect is awful in my opinion.

I also hate the full moon lighting and the bloom on everything. I use a lighting mod by BurntWaffles that gets rid of all that!

For realistic gameplay there's also a mod that removes the plan outfit interaction from dressers, so you're forced to buy new clothes instead of getting them for free. You can buy new clothes with the Into the Future mannequins or ani's mods (there's a clothing rack and a modified version of the mannequins with some improvements).

Ive been playing sims 3 since it came out. This the 1st time i use nraas mc, sp, retuner, ow . Do u know how to turned off free will? I disable free will on the gameplay setting but my sims still doing stuff on their own. I didnt find anything on google that helps. Its very annoying

@@PleasantSims one thing you can do in your story progression video it's talk about the personalitys that come with the modules! They are confusing, I don't know how they works and what is the real influence in the gameplay. When you setting your integrated neighborhood you should look at several mods that expands a lot the cooking act, the profissions, school, hospitals, etc. There's even a mod that expand the alquimia skill and gives more books to buy and sell in the library.

I don’t mind it as much as long as i don’t get that stupid muddy ugly color that a lot of basic generated townies get. It’s a brown but not entirely because it has this wierd gradient..

Yeah a blonde wouldn't technically be possible in real life, but red hair would! Especially if a grandparent or great grandparent had red hair. So unless you played several generations before this one, it makes sense

@@sweetie_babie in the sims it's possible though.. my founder was a blonde who had a daughter with brown hair then most of her kids either had her color brown or her husbands color black.. but one of her kids had blonde hair like her grandmother

I can't play without the whole Nraas library. My gameplay was elevated to the max after I installed them. Besides those I have a couple of mods for extra careers and minimum details, like the fridge needing food, and minimum details

sims 3 is incredible as it is. I just had my first gift giving party and the ceremony blew me away with how they sat around the presents and took turns jeering at each other, then at the end you get the gnome

I like using Nraas Vector so my sims get sick. I usually only have common cold and simfluenza activated at any one time though. Others I like having in my game are taxi charge, hospital overhaul, and msc_mod which makes it so more sims go to community lots as I was sick of going somewhere and being the only sim there. And I haven't used it yet because I haven't had a pregnancy since installing it but the mixed pregnancy feelings mod sounds really cool that not every sim will have a green moodlet when pregnant now.

Sometimes I try to play as a horse and assimilate into the wild horse group that roams around! I love that the horses can just live 100% off the land.

Great list of mods. Here are the mods I use : 1)For me I use mods to remove annoying idle or unnecessary animations like the foot tapping animation(modthesims.info/d/367578/no-foot-tapping-while-waiting-for-clear-route.html ) and route fail animation(modthesims.info/d/366836/no-route-fail-tantrum-animations.html ). When I removed these, my sims automatically find the best route and not making a tantrum when they are in a crowded place. This is specially useful in schools when there are so many kids waiting in front of the school and I used this with the additional entry and exit mod for schools(modthesims.info/download.php?t=568897 ) so that the kids will patiently fall in line until they enter the school. 2)Another annoying animation for me is the coughing while eating animation, so I use this mod(modthesims.info/d/360002/sim-cough-drop-stop-sims-choking-coughing-while-eating.html ) to remove that. Slob sims will still cough but I think that's appropriate so yeah. 3)I also remove the Idle animations with this mod(modthesims.info/d/518491/the-annoying-idle-killer.html ) because it's not really realistic when you're sad then you suddenly start clapping your hands cheerfully randomly. 4)I also use the sleep freedom mod(www.nraas.net/community/SleepFreedom ) that makes two sims with no romantic relations sleep in the same bed. I mean it doesn't make sense that you could only sleep with your significant other in the same bed but not with your family or best friend,right? If you install this mod in your current save, you may have to buy a new bed since it doesn't work with beds that are bought without the mod. 5) Okay for hardcore mods, I use Consort Age mod(modthesims.info/d/517293/age.html ) which will gradually change your ADULT sims into elders(it will gradually change hair color to white, add wrinkles and many others) so that the age transition from adult to elder is not abrupt( at least for me). And it usually makes a difference since young adults and adults in the sims are indistinguishable. 6) And lastly, the taxi charge mod(modthesims.info/d/529758/taxi-charge-mod-updated-oct-16.html ) which will charge you when using a taxi. I mean taxis are not free in real life, right? Though you may want to not install this at the beginning of your game, especially if you're still poor since it will drain your money fast!

Pleasant Sims, I almost never encounter tourists in my game. If anything I would love to encounter more of them, especially in my larger worlds where I have trouble getting enough sims to keep the world from feeling like a ghost town

My biggest issue is that for YEARS I played unmodded Sims 3. It wasn’t until the release of expansions and stuff packs ended that I started using mods to add new content. I bought the Sims 4 on launch day and the same day went back to Sims 3... there was just nothing to do! Without mods, the Sims 4 is unplayable to me, and thats something I absolutely hate. I shouldn’t have to add fan content to a game to make it playable, especially after spending $60.

I’d love for you to do an in-depth video on nraas and story progression. Sims 3 was my first sims and I used to have so much and never played with mods in my game. I was really young and inexperienced with computers so I was too afraid to try lol. I’ve been playing sims 4 since day one and the game has just been wearing on me… it’s just not fun anymore! I want to get back into TS3 you’ve definitely have helped with that! I just hope my computer can handle it lmao

9 months late, but I think sims 3 would be managable on your comp. I have sims 3 on a HP laptop and with NRAAS installed it works vety well. Just don't forget to delete cache files before entering the game.

I forget the name, but for just a smidge more realism, I also use an NRAAS mod that allows sims to buy sim-written books from that neighborhood's bookstore.

I'm not really interested in making my game realistic. I'm more of - through all supernatural stuff in the world and see what breaks gal. But nether the less I enjoyed watching this video. Your pure energy when explaining this mods made enjoy them as well. Great video! :V

When it comes to mutations I actually enjoy it because in my life I find it to be realistic. My mom was born with strawberry blonde hair that's curly but we do not know anyone else that could have had this hair in her family, and then I ended up with the same hair but my siblings have the same hair as the rest of my mom's and dad's family. I find it fun and it gives me a sense of deeper lore of grandparents that don't exist because it's my first generation of sims

I like the idea for the minimum wage mod, but the prices are to low. No one should be forced to work a job that only pays $2 an hr. My only problem with the mod is that it’s to low, and on stage 4 of any career my sims should definitely earn more than $9 an hr. There should be a better balance. I like the no fridge mod. I like the retuner mode as well.

You could always adjust the wages yourself if you're familiar with Sim3Pe. Hmm...maybe I'll make an updated version for people who think the wages are too low. Thanks for the idea!

My number 1 mod is another Nraas one called Relativity. I hate that it take 2 1/2 hours to wee and shower in the morning so I tune the time down to like 65% and it's so much better

Not really a gameplay thing but I love the outdoor lighting tweaks mod. The shadows are so much more realistic and gorgeous, even the weather and map mode look more realistic. Plus it makes the sky so pretty

Townies have their needs met by the game so they don't need to buy food. If you mean the other playable families, it's the same thing. They live in a stasis when you aren't playing them so you don't have to worry! :)

Thanks for the advice on retuner,that's the only mod I wasn't really familiar with. I've got a mod that allows me to choose which foods and their prices at restaurants but I wasn't sure how to go about changing groceries and books but now I do! The child can mods and more food options(be they actual mods from Mts or around the sims custom snack foods) are must have mods for me on top of all these. Oh and random genetics mod too. Great video as always!

I don't use mods in The Sims 3. Before The Sims 4 came out, I didn't know how to get custom content. Now, when I return to the game, I play without mods, because I've always done it.

I'm low-key a bit glad about the mutations. I started in my neighborhood with a sim with a ginger hair color I made myself and now that there are multiple families a few generations down the line I'm happy about any newborn sim who doesn't have this particular shade of ginger lol

12:53 - for those of you who use Nraas story progression like me, you don't need that mod. It's built into story progression, and you can alter dominant/recessive hair/eye colors so if there is a mutation there has to be someone in the family with it. For example say you have brown haired mama, blonde grandma(on mom's side and dad's side), dark-haired papa and grandpapas, there is still a small chance for the child to be blonde, but it will actually be "genetic". I think it's the population module. It even works with supernaturals iirc as WELL as even skipping more than one generation if one wants that. (So it could be a few generations between blonde child and great grandparents)

I discovered your channel recently and I love him so so much ♥️ Btw, I don’t know if anyone find it realistic but I personally think that it’s kinda dumb that the sims have a very limited menu of meals, specially "common easy to make meals" so I recommend a mod called "green herbs recipes" who gives a lot of vegetable based meals for sims including coleslaw and herb salad for lunch, I love this specially because I’m tired of my sims eating autumn salad 24/7
