Strange how time flies, I remember watching the Book of Eli review for your audition for LTA and thats what put me on to your channel. Been here ever since. Thank you for your honesty and sincerity, for not caving into what the internet wants you to say about a movie. Even though I am inclined to disagree comparatively with how I feel about some movies, you've kept it real since day one and there is no other KZfaq reviewer I trust or feel a connection to more than you, sir. Cheers to another year!

Godzilla Minus One was the biggest shock for me. Wasn't expecting anything from this, but it was brilliant. Even the score felt so old school like those 60's monster films, did it in such a good way. But yes, John Wick 4 was a masterclass in filmmaking. The camera work, the cinematography, it was brilliant to watch.

Your honesty, lack of pretentiousness, unapologetic nerdiness, and simple love of movies come across in each and every video. THAT is why I keep checking back in to see what you think. Yeah. Just found this channel, but he's actually pretty good, and not annoying like nearly all other movie reviewers I've seen. Personally I thought Oppenheimer was boring and the final John Wick wasn't that great, but considering how little there was this year I kind of agree with the list. At least John Wick was an okay ending to the story. And I knew Oppenheimer would be boring, but still a technically good movie. Oppenheimer was probably extra boring for me because I already knew a bunch about the guy. I do think Meg 2 should have been on the list though, as dumb as it was it was by far the most entertaining movie I watched this year.

My top 2 this year would be 'Oppenheimer' and 'Godzilla Minus One'. I feel like 'Oppenheimer' was a movie going experience. Seeing it in IMAX with a 100% booked theater is one of those "wow" moments for a movie. The last movie I went to where it was that packed and they booked extra screens for one movie was 'Avengers: Endgame'. Movies like that are just so damn fun because it becomes an event like going to a concert or sporting event. And then there's 'Godzilla Minus One' which I thought looked pretty good in the trailers, but my goodness I did not expect it to be THAT good. It's one of those monster/disaster movies which does lean more heavily on the human element...but it makes everyone feel real. This isn't like a 'Transformers' movie where the humans have some boring, self-absorbed side quest. When we saw Godzilla we saw the scariest version yet. And the film built up the fact that even though Godzilla itself was scary it's the loss of those you live with that is the most devastating thing anyone can experience and the feeling of constantly being knocked down and unable to rebuild/go on with normal lives. So yeah...I'm saying Godzilla is my movie of the year. Phenomenal movie.

I honestly don't understand what people liked about Spiderverse. The main villain is the spot a guy who can barely make one episode of 90's Spiderman interesting. It's a two part movie with a completely jarring ending. It further minimizes the importance of Peter Parker as the first and main Spiderman. They have the pregnant Spiderwoman in it. And the plot doesn't even have to do anything with saving the world or even the city but is bascially about Miles trying to save his dad from some kind of predestined tragic fate... Honestly what do people like about it??? The Super Mario Bros movie was a hundred times better and honored its source material!

I just found your channel last month... how is that possible?! How did I miss out on your videos for nearly 15 years?! I'm a huge movie buff, so I watch a lot of movie trailers & reviews on youtube for the last 15 yrs, so I don't understand why KZfaq didn't suggest any of your videos to me sooner. Well, I'm so happy I finally found your videos. You are the first movie reviewer or movie critic on youtube that I have truly enjoyed listening to what you think about movies. As someone who grew up watching "Siskel & Ebert" every single week, I'm giving you, as Siskel & Ebert would say, "Two thumbs up." :D (Hopefully you're old enough to know who they are. lol)

Congrats on the 15 years, Jeremy! Consider doing a tournament-style "best of the best" showdown series. Year 1's top 10 vs year 2's, those winners go on to face year 3's and 4's etc.

Thanks Jeremy for another year of reviews. Been watching since the Transformers 2 Revenge of the Fallen review and since then I’ve loved watching movie reviews. Double Toasted, YMS, IHE, RTMM, Chris Stuckmann, all started watching because of you.

Jeremy, I'm not sure if you'll see this, but honestly, you are one of the very few channels I've been subscribed to continuously since X-men origins Wolverine and have never once grown bored with. Thank you for doing what you do. Looking foward to your 2024 reviews and beyond.

I liked Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One, that one kinda flew under everyone's radar with Barbie and Oppenheimer coming out the week after.
@tronam5 ай бұрын
It didn’t fly under anyone’s radar. It just wasn’t as good as Fallout and felt like more of the same, so there wasn’t as much buzz as earlier installments. Calling it Part One didn’t help either as the whole industry started buckling under franchise fatigue. That’s a big part of why Barbie and Oppenheimer were so enthusiastically embraced.

Also what turned ppl off to MI7 was that it was Part One and some online said they will wait when Part 2 to come out in order to watch this film. I sware, ppl today 🤦♂️
@chanmanthegreat14295 ай бұрын
franchise fatigue and calling it part 1 were definitely a big part. If it was just a tom cruise spy movie with a different title I would have probably loved it more!@@tronam
@SumDumGy5 ай бұрын
No, it didn’t. It just wasn’t as good as it should have been. It didn’t fly under the radar; it was seen and forgotten.
@tronam5 ай бұрын
It also wasn't as visually inventive and didn't do enough to stand out, even in its own franchise. Tom Cruise jumping off cliffs isn't that novel anymore. After having just seen Indy 5 a few weeks earlier I had this odd feeling of deja vu in DR watching yet another fight on top of a moving train over the story’s MacGuffin and a 3rd car chase this year through a foreign city after having just seen this in both Fast X and indy 5. Heck, The Bourne Identity did that amazingly well over 20 years ago and it was also in a small Euro car, driving down steps, etc… You can argue that MI7 executed them as well or better, but it doesn't shake the general feeling of lacking creative imagination. There was nothing in it remotely as iconic as rappelling the Burj Khalifa, the opera sequence in Rogue Nation, or even the MI1 CIA heist.@@chanmanthegreat1429

Jeremy, I’ve been watching you and Chris since I was in high school! For over 10 years now! Thank you for always being honest, entertaining, and you! I’m unsure if I would be as enthusiastic about movies without your content. I appreciate you and thank you for all you do. PS: You should do a Q&A video! I’m sure we’d all love to learn more about you

Number 10 is such a cop out. There’s so many movies from this year that could have taken that spot. TMNT, GotG Vol. 3, DnD, M:I 7, …
@dustinwallace20195 ай бұрын
I had to scroll way way down to find someone mention DnD. How that didn't make the top 5 is concerning, but baffling that it didn't make the top 10.

“Missing” is my number 1. I never expected it be there. But I’m terms of emotional pull, a twisting story, pacing, and creativity, nothing beats it imo.
