Single Player: Cheating is OK MMOs: Cheating is DEFINITELY NOT OK. Private Servers (CO-Op): Rules must be agreed upon BEFORE playing a game... just my two cents...

No titan fall where they moved the cheaters into their own servers. That way your cheating tools like aimbots had to go up against other cheaters with their tools.

yep the video at least on the ark part is bs. the cages in no way are designed to punish specific players, everyone including the hackers can use them. just a normal game mechanic and nothing to do with "punishing cheaters"

I had a guy name evan break into my base using hacks over and over. Just waiting for me to open the door so he could knock me out and steal my stuff. One day I did a stat reset put it all in fortitude, came out swinging. In the end I knocked him out and walled him in a metal room with a rope ladder and a trap door up top. Every day I would get on id open the hatch and sying him with my scorpion until he passed out. Force feed him and put tons of rocks in his inventory. I put large animal feces in their all the time. He logged in every day trying to escape or die for maybe 2 weeks. After fhe server died out a little I made gates all around my base in circles. Left him a door to get out. He ran free for the first time in almost a month until he reached my gates. Then I promptly let my tames kill and devour him. Turned my auto defense on and never heard from him again. Except for the occasional clan message saying he died to a plant or turret. 🤣😂🤣

For online multiplayer games cheaters should definitely be punished. But for single player games I think it's kinda stupid. I paid for the game, why shouldn't it be up to me how I'd best enjoy the game. Isn't that the point of single player games, having fun? That's why I play games and don't play online

And even for multiplayer - if it's on the private server and everyone has agreed about what cheats can be put in use now before the game starts, it's fine (though it's more like custom gameplay rules at this point).

Yeah back when everyone wasn't competing with people they'll never meet and pulling cheap crap for a useless bit of bragging. The only cheat codes I've used before was in Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds. Usually it was for resource boosts, which only added about 1000 at a time, or the Simonsays cheat code for story mode points. Drop a like if you remember that game and code.

In Ark there are no consequences for cheaters. There are players well known for hacking with tons of video proof but they still play on their same accounts.

@@davidgoldberg2989 it was little bit after new servers where added and they built there base but didn't put anything to stop people from building next to them so some random join piller all around them stopping them from any kinda building and telling them if they don't leave he going report them for greffing "his base" as he built a base literally next to them.ps this was on island in the West on red ob island there built on a cliff so the troll built a piller wall so they couldn't get Dino's or anything and server was 212

That has happen a few times before, couple involved the main developers who monitor gamer communities who step in to delete or did public humiliation, and few "do-good" hackers within community messing up the cheaters' account, sometimes not only in game but also IRL. Bank accounts being zero'd, inappropriate E-mails sent, SWAT-ing through personal info on the net. Never cheat an honest person.

Moral of the story. Cheating in online multiplayer games isn't worth it. If you must cheat, then do so on a single player off line game. Oh and also cheat to make sure the game doesn't have anti cheat stuff before you cheat in the offline single player game.

I had a friend who got Xbox Live banned until the year 9999 because he played Forza 3 a week early with the devs. At the time he was the head of Blockbuster and when he got the game in early the higher ups in management gave him the okay to play it early so he did then he ended up having a great time and hanging out with the Turn 10 devs online but once the game released Xbox themselves banned him until the year 9999 he couldn't do anything about even contacted the Turn 10 devs but their hands were tied as the higher ups in Microsoft were the ones who issued the ban and even though Turn 10 put in the good word and explained the situation Microsoft themselves didn't care so the ban stuck and my friend never played another game early online again.

Microsoft's Xbox Live division (and Xbox in general) has always been notorious for having some of the biggest pricks in the company. The Pro is especially notable, and he was just an ego of his own. Now, not all of them are like this obviously, but there are a good chunk

Too bad it's already been said that even if someone's account was to be accessed on the year 9999 or after the account would infact still be banned as its permanent, the number is just a visual placeholder that would otherwise be beyond a average person's lifespan

Being a minor has very little to do with it tbh. Thats like any other crime, if you break the law you will have to be aware the being a minor will not shield you from everything. Might aswell blame tax fraud on your kids if it was that easy. battle royals as a whole are just copies of the last. at the very least fortnite managed to break away from the copying and started making their own thing which caused the game to be loved by masses and become one of the most played and popular game since GTA, COD and minecraft.

biological stepdad Fortnite definitely took something original and it made it unique, but that was at first. Over time, you can tell that they just lost direction of where they wanted the game to go, and that’s why you can find vehicles added and lazy gun ideas that only last about two weeks.

Cheating in online games is wrong but in private games I don't see the problem. Like so what if I want to skip ahead a day in Animal Crossing 🙄 its my game and I paid for it. So I honestly think the Banjo Kazooie deleting thing is kinda messed up. Why give them the option of cheating and then punish them for doing it?

@@ratedr7845 actually they do otherwise that area wouldnt have existed. I think the 3 strike policy in the game is because at the time the games couldnt handle essentially skipping so the game resets itself. Had an old Pokemon Blue game that resetted itself because of that.

A lot of the time cheat codes were put into games to help the development process. If you are trying to test a certain level, or do a certain thing, it makes it easier on the developer to not have to play the game correctly every time they want to test a problem. Usually since they were already coded into the game, it was easier to leave them in there, rather than remove them before publishing the game. Of course as time has gone on, development process has changed thanks to different technology.

Don't forget that you'll lose ur pokemon when you do that glitch in the Battle Frontier in Pokemon Emerald. And getting new pokemon from the Battle Factory won't be worth it from losing the pokemon you raised well

Yeah sadly I main I’m all for playing you’re own way I’ll admit to having used a few cheats in my day but don’t make everyone else suffer I also Frye same way about the people who made games like Pokémon and ssb so fing completive these games were made to be enjoyable but all people of all skill levels but no I have to get thrown in a room with try hard s or against the fifth max iv all shiny legendary team in a row! With regards to the Guild Wars punishment, this also happened when an account was stolen as a way to stop whoever stole it form doing more damage with said account. Luckily it would normally be returned to its rightful owner. I know this because it happened to me. It felt odd watching my own character get killed like that while on an alt account.

The only thing I disagree with was Ark's imprisonment feature. If anything that system gave cheaters more ability to ruin the game for everyone else.

And in Earthbound, if your copy of the game is pirated, the game itself will know this, and make the entirety of the game super hard, but still MOSTLY beatable, until that is when you reach Giygas, at which point your save file will permently freeze and delete itself, meaning that you essentially beat 99% of the video game FOR NOTHING.

In MP games cheaters are complete asshats and should he rightfully banned, but in SP games let them do it, hell let them break the game if they so please.

This is an oldie but I remember hearing about this when I was younger and was reminded of it by a friend who saw it first hand. In Halo 2 this is what happened to one cheater. At the beginning of the round a dev spawned in with everyone else carrying a large flaming red hammer. Upon the start of the round he charged the cheater who had been cheating the last few rounds jump up and instantly killed him yelling "PERMA BAN!" Afterward the developer played the round normally with everyone in it. All things considered that is one of the best cheat bustings I have heard of.

I remember one game that punished you for using cheats. There is a game called rise of nations. I forgot what cheat I used, but the punishment was that enemy units would turn invisible, teleport to hard to reach places, and spawn barracks at random spots. While it wasn't annoying for long games, it was a massive pain in the Campaign where all battles are timed.

In ark you are not allowed to keep people locked up for more than 24 on official servers, if you keep them the devs with release them and if you capture the same person you will get dev wiped which is arks punishment for cheaters

Super Mario Odyssey should punish those that use wallclips to hide balloons in Balloon World. Ideas: 1. The hider won't get any coins if the attacker fails after 3 tries, and Luigi refunds all the coins the attacker spent trying to find the balloon. 2. Luigi telling the hider that they picked TOO good a hiding spot, and force them to find another spot. 3. Make their balloon unplayable.

#001 As far as I can think of, it's for 2 reasons 1. The developer(s) are cheat elitists that feel like even in single player game they'll be like "Duurr you're a loser for cheating in our games and not playing them correctly durrr!!" Last time I checked, we paid for our games. Therefore how we play our SINGLE PLAYER GAMES....that WE PAID FOR....IN THE SANCTITY OF OUR HOMES is our own godamn business! 2. The developer(s) like to troll us. Which can also coincide with my first point. Either way that is why (and thank God) we have mods, homebrews, and hacks.

I had a good idea for one. In a horror game i'm working on, theres obviously going to be cheaters. So, they get caught, they cannot enter the game. Well, they can, they just get a jumpscare and immediatly kicked. And if they find a way around that? The Story ends before it begins, in the multiplayer, they can do literally nothing. They literally cannot move.

The guild wars one was a bit of an issue though. It had the opposite effect for a time, since the only other way to see Dhuum was by getting through a rather difficult dungeon. And the entire 'humiliation' was such a cool emote, that some people tried to get a ban on purpose, just to see this in action. And yes, i'm speaking from experience, played the game for years, and bore withness to at the very least 10 instance of this, 3 of which had been provoked on purpose by the 'offender'.
