And many have reduced CC like BMW, Yamaha, etc, have gone down at least 200cc. The Taiwanese Kymco wins at 550cc.

They didn't even show the Burgman 650. I own one and it's frigging amazing. I will never buy another motorcycle after buying my Burgman. From this point on it's scooters or possibly a Can Am, but I'm leaning more toward the scooters. The only reason scooters have a bad image in America is because they have been placed in two categories. 1st they have been pushed as something for old people who can't ride "real bikes" anymore. And secondly they are associated with colleges because students use the small 50cc models that just generally make life horrible for everyone else on the road. Both are generally wrong with little basis in reality.

@@robertlane6431 I soooo agree with you !! If more Americans would visit Europe or Asia….they would see just how POPULAR scooters are. I guess it may take our gasoline prices to rise substantially for more people to consider them an alternative.

The range is terrible; you'll NEVER tour on long trips with one, guaranteed. Electric is just OK for in city, short hop, known distance commuting. That's why all these manufacturers mentioned here don't bother offering an EV scooter; very few would be sold. EV's have their place, just not on center stage, or as a practical 'go anywhere, anytime you need' machine. Sorry but that's the 'Reality Check'.

100% agree with you. I just bought a well cared for nice condition 2006 Suzuki Burgman 400 with 8,000 miles (barely broken in) for $ 2,000 cash. It had some deferred maintenance I did myself - CVT belt change, etc. Gets actual 65 mpg. Cruises 70mph no problem, carries tons of cargo. But yes, I'd NEVER pay these asking prices. Obviously some do. Great, I'll buy their scooters in 10 years for half of todays prices. There are SO many motorcycle & scooter 'Garage Queens' (same with high end bicycles), that you can buy for 30-40% of their original price in near perfect condition. Best wishes in your search.
